Is atheism basic Judaism?

I'm of the impression that certain forms of Judaism can be a lot more agnostic than many other religions. Also, I've heard that some atheists continue to identify as Jewish for cultural reasons, whereas members of other religions don't tend to do that (although I knew one Mormon guy who did).

But short answer: no.

I'm thinking Buddhism would tend to be a lot closer and that's not necessarily atheistic either.

Atheism is not a religion. It's a simple stance. There can be people who call themselves atheistic Jews, although there'd be debate about whether or not they are really Jews.

There are atheistic and non-atheistic Buddhists and Taoists who I'd think would be more likely to be considered real Buddhists and Taoists by more people.

I think a better word for "atheistic art" would be "secular" art. Secular stuff is just stuff not inspired by religion (which can still be done by religious people). I don't think there would ever really be atheistic art... because atheism's not anything that's going to inspire anyone. It's too simple of a concept.

So, I'd say there will probably be zero atheistic art and Jewish art would be anything inspired by Jewish beliefs and probably culture too, if made by Jews. I think a Jewish person would be a lot better to talk about this stuff with. I'm just an atheist who's had an interest in learning about different religions.

But you don't think that the Jewish people can reflect publicly just some convient nuances of their jewish... and yes i got your point with secular art.. and I had same perspective.. but a light bulb strike when remember the dude who was with eminem that with bear, Rick Rubin... well I come across to hearing he is a Jewish.. i don't try to be anti semitic.. but the dots look wild... so ok yes he is creative and all it... and he definitely didn't look he is a Jewish or make special jew art but tho he is not a atheist... so his influence or source it's ties to his roots even publically he can camouflage it

I mean... Christians do a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with their religion too and I sometimes see almost no clear difference between Christians and atheists until I find out they believe in their perception of Christianity.

no. judaism has their god. all its major branches reform etc. are theists but most jews are secular and most jews in israel maybe 60% are atheists. almost all know their bible is 'not for doing'. but once that is said they love the rest of the bible.

Become of the common coincidence... because their tone of religion can very when they portrait that publically.. so much very that they look a like how the atheist will say they are or represent and all.. but when too look at atheists roots you don't get of they have or not... as when they do... they look so much of the roots of that religion group
