Just a FYI I am both unmarried and don’t have kids. I actually want both but I have just never found the right person for that. There was one person I met years ago who could of been that person but it didn’t work out. She happened to meet me at a specific period in my life which was the wrong time.

Anyway get how becoming a parent can radically change your life. I have nieces and nephews and I observed how my brother went from a carefree assholish “bro dude” to a hard working responsible adult very quickly. He tells me that although he sometimes misses his bachelorhood that overall being a dad and getting married really is the best for him. Also he wasn’t serious about his career/education but he actually completed college a few years after his daughter was born. Him and his wife actually make a decent income with their combined salary.

My sister has become a mother too. She works in education and surrounded by lots of leftist unmarried women. Yes her and her husband are overall very happy they have become parents.

Anyway I don’t want to pot calling the kettle black given my bachelorhood/fatherhood student. However I could settle down with the right person. But if I don’t find her I’m also at peace with that possibility.

But seriously does being unmarried and lifelong childless seriously appeal to many people? Maybe it does in your 20s. But a part of me regrets not settling down with someone earlier.

So I've been ghosted by an online friend a few months ago. The ghoster left me on read 3 times and finally replied 3 weeks after the initial message. Ghoster said I had done nothing wrong, and that they went through some "dramatic" events. I replied the next day, and they left me on read again for 2 days. Once they replied, they kinda explained "what happened to them", and they asked how I was doing. I said I was fine, that I hoped they are too, and that I was there for them if they needed someone to talk to. So they left me on read again, but this time for 10 days. When they finally replied, they thanked me and said that they missed chatting and doing a specific activity with me. I left them on delivered for 5 days. On the 4th, they double texted me and said that they hoped I was doing okay. So I replied on the 5th day and they unexpectedly replied 4 hours later. So I thought that maybe they actually wanted to put more efforts into being in communication with me again. So after that, I stopped texting them (to see if they would reach out to me).

Around 2 weeks later, I reached out and invited them to do an activity with me. It took them like 10 mins to read the message and yes, they left me on read again. I didn't double text, and it took them almost 3 weeks to reply. When they did, they said that they "didn't know that I had written to them" and then, they invited me to that activity with me in the evening. I left them on delivered. Haven't opened it yet, and it's been 2 days. I don't know if they'll double text me like they did last time I left them on delivered.

Is this a good idea? Is it ok to ghost the ghoster? I mean, I don't think they're truly honest... What if I had replied? Would they have left me on read again, or would they have actually went through with their plan to do something with me on that day?
