I keep telling girls that they are attractive but actually have no idea what they look like online.
In person I keep telling girls that they are impressive or intelligent and have no idea if that's true at all.

Is that wrong? I mean it isn't an outright lie because they could be attractive or intelligent or impressive so it's more a "yet to be confirmed" compliment.

Often times we tend to listen to people with the intent of giving a response. It seems more and more today (and the internet is certainly not helping) everyone wants to be heard but no one wants to listen. Ideas become stifled, politics becomes stalled, and when you look at comments on any social media half the time you see people blaming others or saying one is wrong instead of actually discussing the ideas at hand. Maybe it's always been this way and the internet has just made it easier to see (?).

So my question is what it states in the header, do you listen to respond to people or do you listen to hear what others have to say? and it's totally okay if you listen to respond, I mean we are conditioned to do so, at least in western culture to my knowledge.

Do you feel the climate of discussion has become toxic with everyone shouting or do you feel people still listen to others? lets have a discussion on this.

Also please be respectful of others opinions in this and please don't call anyone out or any names.
