We’re currently in a dating app era & the idea behind dating apps seems practical yet you hear more bad than good things about them. Almost 30 & I’ve never been in a LTR, I have accomplished everything I currently want out of life but been able to find a quality guy. I’ve owned a condo & strive to eventually own a home in a few years, are dating apps to blame behind being single or is there more to it (aka am I the issue)? I’ve been told I’m attractive by all kinds of people for a good chunk of my life but I’ve never been approached in person by a guy I’d like to date (getting checked out doesn’t count).
The only times guys I find attractive have acknowledged me were on dating apps, it’s just there’s times where maybe I feel burnt out & can’t be bothered to end up meeting that guy in person.

Or when I feel like I have *options*/ I’m in a mood where I just don’t want to put in the effort. And when the app outlook looks dismal at a given moment (like now), I consider deleting & reinstalling at a later time. I get bored after communicating too long etc, it may seem like self sabotage topped with my terrible anxiety but I’ve never felt SO unsure about something in my life & that *something* is dating. Unsure if my lack of libido/lack of interest in being sexual might play a part (no health issues). There’s always that voice in the back of my mind that makes me think the right guy will change all of that but who really knows. I’m worried I’ll be shriveled up & when I finally have that drive, it’ll be too late to find a match. I heard an influencer say the other day that there shouldn’t be pressure or a rush to date, it’s an opportunity that’ll always be available.

TL; DR: Is dating hard for most? And is my case bad luck or someone unsure of what she wants?

I met Brad in Nov 2023 through a dating app & we were long-distance until I moved closer to his city in March-June. We were living together & things were going alright. Whenever we had issues, they tended to get resolved relatively quickly. A few people were worried that he was controlling since all his exes said he was manipulative, etc. He proposed to me in May.

My sister came in June to move me back home unexpectedly since I was done with school & I didn't tell my family about him beforehand, so that was the first time they had met. She didn't like him for various reasons. We left so he could meet the rest of my family & they didn't like him either for multiple reasons. Brad was expecting me to leave with him that day since we agreed/made a plan. I chose to stay with my family because my mom said she needed me due to a heart issue & they wanted to do a party that honored them in the community. Brad felt betrayed & still is holding onto it to this day.

This whole time, it's been a rollercoaster between Brad & me since he feels like what I'm doing is wrong, there's no reason for us not to see each other physically until the party, & my family is using the party in Sept as an excuse to end/separate us. I spoke with my mom recently & she agreed it was an excuse for the last couple of months since she hoped we would end by now. Since we're still together, she is now working on it, but I feel betrayed, don't want to do it anymore, & want to leave to be with Brad, even though that would put me in a tough position if we were to divorce since my family would disown me.

Brad has also tried to leave the relationship a few times & followed other girls on social media since he was upset about all this. He said that the party needed to happen this month, as my mom promised, or else he'd end the relationship seriously unless I left to be with him. My mom went to the venue, and their available date is Dec. I don't know what to do; please help, i miss him :(

This guy just had his life separate from work and personal life. He’s overseas right now and when he gets back nobody will be his friend. They basically dogged this man wife, ruined her reputation, and completely made people dislike her over rumors. These people claimed to be his friends but dogged the crap out of his wife. This is this man personal life and I feel he has a right to live it. He kept his personal life private and work life work life. They never met his wife but made it seem like they were in control. he had a right to live his personal life the way he wanted too. This entire thing seems to be about wanting control.

For a little over 2 years, I gamed online with two guys. In the early stages we used to game together more often but it wasn’t as often in the last yr. Usually it was at minimum 2-3 times a week & for hours, it was through a voice chat and eventually we added each other on social media. We met during Covid which explained how we had more free time but the fact we spoke through social media when we weren’t gaming + the rate we spoke at made me think there was a decent thing going. One guy was a bit older than me & was dl annoyed by the other guy that was closer to my age.

Long story short, I kind of got annoyed overtime with the cockiness of the older guy & decided to unfriend him, to be fair I removed the other guy too since I didn’t only want to be on speaking terms with one. The younger guy months later msged me & tried adding me back twice, the older guy msged me and asked why I got rid of him. I was blunt, he apologized & he told me about something really traumatic that happened to him. I was sympathetic & added him back maybe a month later.

After a few months of him not attempting to talk to me, I removed him because I got the impression he didn’t want anything to do with me. I’m pretty sure the two guys aren’t on each other’s friend lists either & they both follow me on IG still. Shortly after I removed the older guy again, he likes/comments on one of my IG posts. Literally a yr later, he looks at maybe 1-3 of my IG stories & this past weekend we were in a gaming session again. That was kinda rare to happen tbh since they’re so random but we didn’t interact AT ALL.

I mean these 2 guys were usually the ones to initiate interacting with me, the older guy very later on shared his # & even called me a “good friend”. Tbh I considered them online friends & would’ve been down to talk again if everyone was actually all in. I don’t think I’m one to get overattached but I’m surprised how they don’t seem to care at all.
