This guy just had his life separate from work and personal life. He’s overseas right now and when he gets back nobody will be his friend. They basically dogged this man wife, ruined her reputation, and completely made people dislike her over rumors. These people claimed to be his friends but dogged the crap out of his wife. This is this man personal life and I feel he has a right to live it. He kept his personal life private and work life work life. They never met his wife but made it seem like they were in control. he had a right to live his personal life the way he wanted too. This entire thing seems to be about wanting control.

Me and my girlfriend are a TEAM. Talking bad about her is talking bad about me, and that doesn't fly.

I don't generally keep people in my life who act this way - I barely see or interact with my sister for that reason (she talks behind everyone's back and has no friends as a result) - and while I have zero interest in gossip myself, that doesn't mean I don't hear things, and it doesn't mean that I won't eviscerate someone who is attacking my team with their own secret dirt.

I learned the hard way, by being bullied for years without fighting back, and then by ultimately fighting back, that no one respects you when you are passive but when you fight back, you will be treated far better. So when I am attacked, I immediately go on the offensive, and I find that the attacks stop right away. I make the cost of attacking my team too high for anyone to continue.

@Ladsin2 Well, that's unlikely given that I'm not in the Navy and I don't work in shipping and I have no interest in cruises, but, hypothetically, it would mean that we were no longer together. But I vetted my girlfriend thoroughly, and she holds the same kinds of morals and values that I do, so that scenario is pretty unlikely. Especially since we see each other 4-5 times a week.

It's a common thing these days for people to have nothing important to do other than gossip behind each other's backs. My brother is friends with all those who hate me, spreading untrue rumors about me until my reputation is ruined in front of everyone. In fact, he likes it too. You must accept that this world is full of sick people.
