What would you do if someone disrespects your spouse?

So my friend published a Facebook post that her husband wanted her to post. Family, friends are on social media and this is the usual way to communicate. She posted about him returning from overseas and etc. her husband cut off everyone from coworkers, friends, family and etc after returning. people never liked my friend because she wasn’t part of the wrong crowd and she wasn’t out here in such a negative image. She wasn’t like everyone else. People completely disrespected her, destroyed her character and jumped on the same band wagon. They didn’t deserve judgement until they met her. Her husband refused to introduce her to his family. I told her that I finally see why.

Well disrespect shouldn’t be tolerated and sometimes you have to make a choice to cut toxic people out of your life. They’re trying to make themselves feel better as well as trying to provoke responses for their own amusement.

If the disrespect isn’t called for. Yes, at some point especially if it’s severe enough. They don’t need to be in my life.

If they just say something bad to her, I'll probably give them an ugly look and just move on.

If they grab her, touch her, or try to do something more serious. I will attack.

Social media isn't important to me. In real life, yes, I would say something if my partner wasn't there to defend themselves. For example, that it's very cowardly to say something bad behind someone's back instead of saying it to their face.
