More importantly, what do you think would fix it? Or if it even matters?
It's really difficult for many people to feel financially stable enough for it. And then on top of that, you're telling me I have to have sex with someone? Get real. I struggle to even take care of myself from rampant depression, and I'm sure others do, too. Having kids is a massive ask. More power to the people who don't mind doing it, or are able to, of course. But I've given up on the idea, the buck stops here for my bloodline. Are we screwed? Did modern society evolve too fast for us all?

In the 1930s, the world had the Great Depression, which I think we can say rivals today's economic and social crisis scenarios in severity. The 1960s saw a huge youth-driven social rebellion and revolution, and a lot of long-prevailing negative social trends like divorce, poverty, STDs, etc. either started the decade after or were linked directly/indirectly to the social changes during that period. (even though I can't tear on the 60s completely, as it had some of its good spots and effects.).

Maybe we are more like the 60s today. There is an echo of the social revolutionary aspects of the 60s, only this time it is Gen Z and younger millennials 'out-liberal'-ing their parents generation, and their focus is more on social and cultural stuff than the economy or class things.
