Maybe they’re meant to be together?

I feel hurt after my cousin secretly started talking to a guy I confided in her about then tried to gaslight me about it and really started struggling with my mental health… I haven’t really dated in my 20s and he was my first real emotional connection.. They think they are buying love, but they are just trying to purchase a captive.

I do not wear jewelry. My hands are too busy digging graves for stillborn calves and hauling heavy buckets of lye. But sometimes, when I see a picture of these precious, multi-thousand-dollar stones flashing across a screen, I just stare at the center of the gem. I think about the absolute, suffocating pressure of the earth, and the diamond simply remembers what it used to be.
