there's a nice word in philosophy called vorstellung, I think the English transliteralism is forstilling. it doesn't exist in English but it would be related to the word instilling. it differs from an instilling in the way that a forstilling is simply how you have come to view the world without the emphasis on indoctrination that instilling has. Schopenhauer argues that the world we experience is merely forstilling. it is illusory, nothing is truly known, except for will, which exists in everything everywhere, even inanimate objects such as rocks. how much of that is true and how much of that is illusory in and of itself is for you to think about.
