There's usually two main types of ways to do tv shows: serialized where there is a continuous narrative throughout the series that requires you to pay attention week to week to stay caught up.

Then there is episodic where each episode wraps up then and there and doesn't continue on. Or if it does it's usually only 2-4 episodes at most and then the next episode after that starts a new story.

There's pro's and cons to both. serialized allows the characters to go real in depth and develop but if you miss any episodes you might be lost and have to catch up. also if you are not so into the current arc you have to wait until that wraps up before a new begins. so breaking bad, game of thrones etc.

Episodic doesn't require much involvement and you can tune in and out whenever and you won't be lost and if you aren't liking an episode you can simply wait until the next one that vibes with you better. However it usually doesn't allow the characters to grow much. so law and order, really most crime tv shows.

There's some shows that do a bit of both though like Star Trek or maybe the X-files. you got 'stand alone' episodes that wrap up immediately but you have a bigger overarching narrative happening throughout the series that sometimes have episodes dedicated to just that from time to time.

So yeah which do you prefer from your tv shows?

I was getting tired of asking my teen / tween kids to do the same thing and I was up to four times asking (2 texts & 2 face to face) Then I texted them saying I'm going to order Greek food for dinner and wouldn't you know it they both replied within 30 seconds with their orders. And I texted them that:

"This has been a test of the parent broadcast system. Had this been a real emergency you ain't gonna make it on the outside in ANY interpersonal relationships with your boss, professors, coworkers or SOs."

"No Greek for you! You get leftovers! Good day sir!"

My wife & all the moms ♀️ think IATA but the dads TO A MAN ♂️ say "serves em right! Maybe they'll think twice!"

2004 was my favorite year. 2005 was quite decent. I moved in 2005 in the middle of 5th grade. 6th grade had some challenges but was OKish. 7th grade was the beginning of the decline. By the time 2008 rolled around going forward, I was in a severe and sharp mental health decline. I was going in and out of psych hospitals. I was told adulthood would be better. That couldn't be farther from the truth. At 18 throughout most of my 20s, I was in severe mental and emotional anguish. The involuntary hospitalizations continued.

By age 29, I managed to get my first real girlfriend and serious relationship. I am now engaged to be married, but I am far from normal. I still struggle with mental health issues and now physical health problems as well.
