I believe most women still deep down prefer that men approach them first. They don’t like the guesswork and risk of the rejection. They also like the attention. When someone approaches you it puts you in the drivers seat to accept or reject. It makes you feel wanted and valuable.

However I do believe more women are approaching men nowadays. However it’s definitely not a 50/50 balance. Only a small (yet growing) minority of women are confident enough to take that risk.

Also a lot girls who say they are “approaching” men are really just getting close to the man’s presence vs. directly talking to him, asking for a number and a date. There is a difference.

I asked one of my tinder matches for an activity date but she suggested wine at her place instead. I ordered food and we small talked on the couch, then ate and back at the couch again.

After 3 hours she asked when the sun set is, it was getting dark. (Was this my sign to leave?)

We talked some more then she asked if we should put on a series.
We started an episode and I put my arm around her and she leaned in on me, put her head to my shoulder and her hand on my knee. After a while we grabbed hands. I rubbed her shoulder and she stroked my hand on and off.

After the second episode I said that I don’t want to take up her whole evening (might have mumbled a bit) and she asked if she should start another episode or not. Which I replied that it’s probably time for me to leave.

(This was 5 hours in).

We hugged and I left. The morning after I thanked her and apologised for occupying her whole evening. She replied that she had a great time and didn’t acknowledge the time part. I asked for her number and she gave it to me. She hasn’t replied as quickly today or with as enthusiastic emojis though.

I feel like I might have overstayed. Or am I just dense?

(29yo straight dude) I stay away from the social media but it’s hard bc I still have just Snap and a YouTube account. Never tweeted, no insta, and deleted my fb in 2013. When out at bars, if i somehow stumble upon exchanging numbers, nowadays, “Instagram?” Is expected before the number. Lol I’ve had buddies with insta follow girls I’ve talked to at bars and it sucks the not being a part of the media makes me feel like an outcast when I just hate all the time consuming clout we gotta worry about. Everyone posts fake bs and pretends to be fancier, tougher, edgier, richer, and even funnier than they really are or ever will be. It drives me me nuts everybody’s a rapper, a TikTok dancer, a “” professional chef, fitness influencer only fans face maker and they all flex so hard with their belongings, causing everyone to think this is what life is all about and we can all just quit her jobs and become influencers. Now I don’t hear anybody doing any of this for fun but there’s definitely ones that take it way too serious and to me that’s a problem I can only see you getting worse in the future, which is a great reason why I take no part as best as I can. I’m not ultimately against the media. It’s hard for me to do it soft and I only use it for advantages, and I finally need to post things for clout and that’s just on Snapchat with my small private circle.

I hear people saying everyone’s taken or why is everyone in relationships but in reality most of those who don’t meet through work or school is through online. And more and more people are becoming socially awkward or hermits not even going outside to buy groceries and getting take out everyday.

Are relationships easier to find nowadays since you can be indoors all day and still meet 10 people online through an app? Whereas before you had to go outside to meet those people and interact in person and spend an entire day and probably not get a single number?

how is it possible that people are becoming less social but most are in relationships?
