How would you feel if you met a guy with no social media accounts?

(29yo straight dude) I stay away from the social media but it’s hard bc I still have just Snap and a YouTube account. Never tweeted, no insta, and deleted my fb in 2013. When out at bars, if i somehow stumble upon exchanging numbers, nowadays, “Instagram?” Is expected before the number. Lol I’ve had buddies with insta follow girls I’ve talked to at bars and it sucks the not being a part of the media makes me feel like an outcast when I just hate all the time consuming clout we gotta worry about. Everyone posts fake bs and pretends to be fancier, tougher, edgier, richer, and even funnier than they really are or ever will be. It drives me me nuts everybody’s a rapper, a TikTok dancer, a “” professional chef, fitness influencer only fans face maker and they all flex so hard with their belongings, causing everyone to think this is what life is all about and we can all just quit her jobs and become influencers. Now I don’t hear anybody doing any of this for fun but there’s definitely ones that take it way too serious and to me that’s a problem I can only see you getting worse in the future, which is a great reason why I take no part as best as I can. I’m not ultimately against the media. It’s hard for me to do it soft and I only use it for advantages, and I finally need to post things for clout and that’s just on Snapchat with my small private circle.

Prefer partner social media extreme (full time/does this for living 10m + followers, likes, clout)

Prefer partner social media Heavy (part time/ probably still works another job 1m- 5m followers)

Prefer partner social media Strong (definitely works somewhere else 100,000- < 1m followers)

Prefer partner social media average (works a 9-5 or has career, doesn’t focus on clout or followers)

Prefer partner with the social accounts to just have but isn’t actively on them

No social media not against it advisable but phone number

Anti social media person, hates it, will advise you to delete, protest and fight against it. (Oh you have tik tok? DELETE IT!!)

I would be really good with that if a potential guy I am considering dating had little to no social media. Perfectly fine with it. I don’t either. I used to use insta but it has become what you said, a platform for wannabe experts on things I don’t care about.

I also don’t need to know what someone’s dinner looked like before they ate it as much as anyone would care what mine looked like. I also don’t need to be constantly updating people regarding my whereabouts. That part is actually dangerous.

This is hardly the most important thing I am going to look for in a guy, but it is a plus. The guy has to be of good character, personality, have similar values to me etc. Those are much more important to me than social media accounts or followers. I have to mesh well with the person. This would be a good start however and something I would share in common with him.

Lol posting dinners haha we’ve all done it but we all expect everyone to care but I don’t give a shit about when others post that honestly. We should all consider “will posting this be better than dinner” lol. Having this kind of mind set will you from posting regretful stuff, I suppose. It’s great to know there’s women out there taking a step back from all this stuff that is forced upon us from our culture. Thanks again for sharing!👍

I don't use much social media either- nor do I use it as a means to "connect" with people. I give people a look, especially coworkers when they ask me if I have snap, facebook, instagram, etc... NO. You want to talk to me, get my number like a normal person and we'll text.

I do have facebook, but I don't post any real life pictures on here: I mostly use it to follow dog, fitness, and work memes. My profile is blocked to where unless you're a friend of one my friends? You can't find me on there or add me. And I prefer it that way.

Good for you! Trust me when I say not everyone is glued to social media.

Yeah I think the worst types of people are a brewin’ these days. People aren’t people anymore you said it ur self you make fake accounts to “troll” people. You sir are a great part of the reason a real person like me stays away from the media. And you pushin 40 my guy, I hope ur trolling makes a meaningful impact on ur mental health knowing ur cyber bully. I don’t use this world “troll” and I hate when people use it in real life. I even work with a dude a bit younger than me and when he fucks around with people on purpose, after he’s done and they had enough he’ll say , “oh I was just trolling you.” NOBODY LIKES THIS GUY, doesn’t surprise me because trolls people in real life…Omg!
