Overall things have gotten much more difficult in my own life. Ever since Biden took over I’ve had the following happen:

• Inflation has devastated my real earnings. I have only gotten two tiny 2% raises at my company in the last 3 years. However like everybody my own expenses have skyrocketed. I am not wealthy but I am trying to be upper middle class. The Biden administrations policies have now knocked me down a peg or two where everything is much more of a struggle. I have much less savings
• I work in the tech sector and there has been a ton of paranoia and stress. The direct company I work for is actually outperforming expectations. However the conglomerate who acquired us is suffering and pushing undeserved suffering on us as a result (no raises, less benefits, etc.). This is the hardest I’ve worked in 7 years with zero appreciation.
• Although I work 100% remote I was forced to vaccinate two years ago. I was on the fence about this initially however as a condition of employment I was left no choice. This was direct Biden mandate and was authoritarian. The fact I had no choice really pissed me off.
• Homeless and crime has skyrocketed in my home state (which has gone far left in the last few years). Fortunately I live in a nice and overall safe neighborhood. However the crap is starting to make out to where I live. I see more and more sketchy people at the grocery stores and there has been in increasing reports of crime. Now I know that’s local not federal politics. But still the “woke” attitude has infiltrated my state and the Biden administration propagated this crap.
• I was recently forced to take a DEI course at my job online. This was mandated company wide. For the most part I don’t care. But they got deep in the “non binary/trans” section. The “lesson” made up a definition that “gender is socially created” which I believe is complete bullshit.

I've been talking to a woman I met through work for a year, but increasingly since Christmas. We went 2 weeks of not talking when we had a disagreement after I asked to meet her a few months back and she said no. But after 2 weeks she reached out to me and we stated talking again. She has a strong history of cutting ties with people if they upset her, so I felt special when she reached out

I've liked this woman instantly since the first time we spoke on the phone. I'm sure there was attraction from her in the early days, but I was too afraid of making a move, so we became friends. I really like her on a personal level, she's amazing. I think I've said enough for her to know I like her without me directly telling her. My god, now I've met her, I think she's the most stunningly beautiful woman I've ever seen

We talk a few times a week, and our calls are at least hour. We are very supportive and caring of each other

Todays her birthday, and I am in her town for other reasons. Last night I told her I had a present for her and if she wanted, I could take it to her, but told her saying no was ok. She told me to take it this morning. This is the first time we've met in person. She's also moving house today so was packing her car when I arrived and she asked me to help. The conversation wasn't flowing as it usually does, it was awkward. She didn't really make any eye contact either. As we were loading the car, she asked if I had to go. I said no, but then she asked again once the car was loaded. She said she was cold and stood with her arms folded and looking into the distance, so I took this to mean she wanted me to go. I said good luck. She said thanks for the gift, and that she'd catch me later. For this she did look me in the eye. She was always smiling but I'm not sure if it was real

I'm feeling deflated now. I had butterflies, and was hoping sparks would fly

The ironic thing about hookup culture is that while it was supposed to make women equal with men, it ended up exacerbating the very inequalities it was supposed to fix. Men get everything they want and more out of the deal. Now they can have sex with as many women as they want, they don’t have to worry about getting a woman pregnant, they get to embrace their inner Peter Pan Syndrome, and they can put off responsibilities for as long as they want – perhaps indefinitely. Meanwhile, women are left feeling empty inside.

I am 28, and I missed out on a lot of social-developmental milestones during my youth that I feel haunts me till this day.

I just awoke a few minutes ago from a dream where I was in my old middle school and I was all grown up. Everything had changed, like my old band director was gone and her classroom was abandoned. I woke up feeling very sad. It was a dream about growing up and everything changing over time.

All my former friends today are married with kids. I am the last one to be unmarried and childless. Even worse, I still never had a real girlfriend.

My biggest regret in life is not experiencing love and romantic acceptance/validation from the opposite sex in my youth. I missed out on young romance for the most part. During high school, I hardly had any friends. The ones I did have I didn't hang out too much outside school. It was a shock the one time I went out with my friend's group of friends, because I never had an actual group of friends I hung out with until that one time.
