Still Alives game collection tour as of 2023!

Still-alive

Welcome my GAG friends. I did one of these mytakes on a different account here almost 8 years ago I'd say. I thought it would be cool to show it off again since it has grown a bit since then and there's a bunch of newer people here who have never seen it yet so why not?

As you can see I'm big into video games. I've lived with them my whole life and have been enjoying them since the Atari 2600 and Apple II days as a wee lad in the 80's. Then my older brother got a regular NES for his birthday in 1988 and from then on i was hooked!

I kept just about everything I ever got over the years from birthdays, Christmases, games I got with money I earned from jobs, and also anything my older brother and friends gave me (im usually the guy in my group of friends people dump their games on that they don't want anymore. lucky me!).

In the early 2010s I went a little nuts and really went all in on collecting every game and system I wanted. The current count is well over 3,600 games both physical and digital across over 30 different consoles including handhelds and on PC. I do not have the newest systems just yet like the PS5 or the Xbox series x, but I may just get a PS5 later this year. I also don't have the Xbox one.

My Dream is to one day own my own place and have the ultimate gaming room. I am very impressed with just how much i can fit in just two rooms as you will see. one bigger room and another smaller room. So i don't need that much space for all this stuff thankfully. It does get challenging thinking of new ways to store things as i get more lol.

Modern Systems (with some older stuff too)

This is out in the game room/office of our house. Got Smash Bros Ultimate playing on my TV. The systems seen on the shelves here from top left: Ps4, Ps3, a receiver, analog and hdmi switch boxes connecting everything, a GameCube (with the Gameboy player attached to the bottom that plays Gameboy, Gameboy color, and Gameboy Advance games), Ps2 slim (which plays Ps1 games), Wii U (which also plays regular Wii games), the Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, original Xbox, and at the very bottom there is the Sega Dreamcast.

Now we are in my bedroom where I sleep soundly every night lol... anyways you can see this small Toshiba CRT television. I think its 13 inch and got dirt cheap at a Salvation Army store lol. On the table there is a top loader original NES and an SNES next to that. on the shelves right next to those from the top to bottom: Sega Genesis with the Sega CD and Sega 32x attached (they really milked the Genesis as much as they could lol), a Turbo Duo R which plays Turbo Grafx games and PC Engine games (Japanese and ntsc regions), a Sega Saturn, a Sega Master System and at the very bottom is the N64.

My Handhelds that I currently use. I got more in storage but they aren't needed as these all play everything I got. so from top left to bottom right: Atari Lynx, Neo Geo Pocket Color, PSP, Sega Game Gear, Nintendo 3DS XL (smash bros version), Ps Vita, and a Gameboy advance SP.

At the top is another NES Top Loader I got from my brother in law, Atari 7800 (which plays Atari 2600 games too) a Colecovision with a Sega Genesis model 1 on top of it, ps1 and the Virtual Boy. The games below those are: PSP, Vita, Japanese Sega Saturn games, 32X games, NTSC Sega Saturn games, 3DS games and Neo Geo Aes games on the bottom right.

End of tour!

So there we have it! Thank you for going on this tour with me.

If you're wondering what my criteria for collecting is? I basically just go for anything I think ill have fun with and try to skip anything I have little to no interest in. For instance I'm not into a whole lot of first person shooter type games, sports, light gun, or rhythm games so I usually never get those or if I do I typically give them away or sell them. If I ever get doubles i usually sell those too and of course if the game just sucks I sell those too lol. I scour ebay and other places on the internet looking for good deals. I try to be as frugal as possible... but sometimes it can't be avoided lol. Sometimes I go out to video game stores, thrift shops, flea markets and yard sales if I'm feeling lucky.

My favorite gaming genres are: RPGs, platformers, action adventure (like Zelda), Point and Click adventure games, metroidvanias, turned based strategy games, survival horror, open world, and some fighting games. I may do a top ten favorite game list some day too lol.

So see anything you like? Do YOU have a collection yourself? share it with me! Yup I am very nerdy. Welcome to my world lol.
