I’ve known her for a few months and I’ve always liked her. Anyway we’re close now but certain things are happening.

A friend of hers asked her what age she would date a man and then she said the age and then she asked me what age I would date a woman. Another friend of hers asked me “so what about (her name) do you like her?” and I said of course I do and then she went bright red and was clearly flattered. When another guy said he liked her she was like just “cool”.

She gets extremely jealous and has joked about not getting jealous if I talk to other women when she gets jealous. She told one of her friends we were dating as a joke when we’re not and she told me when we caught up for coffee that “this is our date (my name). You understand”.

Now she’s posted stuff on her socials that says things like when you know a guy that shares your vibe

she is extremely confident and outgoing but when she sends me pictures she hides her face

i told her I would send her some flowers and she gave me the details. Another guy said he would and she ignored him. She said it was ok that I didn’t have to send her flowers so I didn’t send them but still

she copies some of my behaviour several times. I feel like copying hers but she started it

its difficult cos if I were to ask her it would be awkward so I am asking on here. Given all the info I’ve shared. Do you think she likes me? Of course I hope she does because it feels good if she did at the very least but yeah what do you think?

I’m 27, a vegan, and I’ve never had a serious long-term relationship. I’m a vegan because I grew up in a conservative Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Christian household. Long, story short, SDAs, especially more conservative ones believe in a prophetess named Ellen G. White and she has a health message where she encourages believers to be vegan and not drink coffee. My parents imparted these ways on me. I’ve tried eating meat here and there, but it’s rarely tasted good or I’m slow at eating it.

The one short-term relationship that I’ve had was with a fellow vegan in the church, but on the 2nd date she ate my food and she never showed me any affection (we never held hands or kissed).

Other girls in the church either had more liberal parents that let them eat meat, or they want a guy that’s not in church, or they want some extremely long courtship process and have ridiculously high standards.

My parents projected a lot onto me growing up. They wanted me to be this superstar academically and stressed education. I never went to any SDA schools because my parents thought their education standards were too low. Part of me regrets not going to one because I feel like I could’ve met a girl who’d like me. But now at my church, there’s barely any girls.

When I look outside on dating apps like Hinge & Bumble, I rarely get matches and dates, but when I do it’s like they can sense something’s wrong with me. For instance, I went on a date with a girl and ordered a chicken pasta out of fear of being rejected for ordering something vegan. I didn’t finish it and she thought that was weird. She ghosted me after the date.

Even had a friend in church recommend her friend outside of church to me. We had a lot in common from liking the same basketball players and teams to traveling to different countries. But she said she doesn’t date any kind of vegetarian.

I feel so behind socially and hopeless. My parents say I’m suffering for Christ so it’s ok. I think that’s a load of crap.

My fiancée is from China and Mandarin is her native language. Her English vocabulary is very good although her pronunciation of American English follows Mandarin rules rather than American English rules.

She has taught me a few expressions in Mandarin: hello, I love you, have you lost your mind? But she acts as if I am incapable of learning her language and she is not interested in teaching me. Every evening, she speaks on the phone - in Mandarin - with family and friends. Maybe she doesn't want me to understand what they are saying, but I think she may just be insecure about her ability to teach me Mandarin.

I may purchase language CD's and listen to them every weekday when I am going to and coming from work. The language thing is frustrating, but. . . she is the kindest, most gentle soul I have ever known, I love her, and she loves me.
