I managed to move closer to his city because of school from March-June, so once I came, we began living together & he proposed to me in May. A school situation happened where I got dismissed, so my sister came to move me back home in June. My family didn't like him during his visit since he was focused on taking me back to his home & not caring about my mom needing me/my school situation. I decided to stay with family & Brad disliked that since he hoped I'd leave that day. He left & gave me a hard time about my decision since then. My mom said she planned a Sept party where I could move back in with him more honorably than if I had just left. Brad didn't want to do it, but I did. We waited until Sept & then I found out my mom lied. I fought with her, she apologized, & now booked the venue in Nov by showing me confirmation. She told his parents so they could see if she would keep her word. Brad distrusts her & said if I didn't leave my home by the end of the month, then he'd end the relationship. I told him if my mom started to do anything fishy before Nov, I'd leave, but it didn't make sense to end the relationship over this, especially since I planned to visit. He sent me a goodbye/breakup texts the past week & fighting with me about this party. I told him that if he meant what he said about ending things, then he needs to stop communicating with me unless he decides that he's willing to do the party for my sake in Nov. He said he didn't want to wait that long, but I don't know if he'll change his mind. I texted him a couple of texts since me saying "don't talk to me", but he hasn't responded. I saw him following another girl on social media too, reached out to her, but she didn't respond to me. Do you think he's taking time to think & will reply soon? Or do you think he'll leave me? Why did he still text me even though he claims he ended things a long time ago?

She met him for the first time & didn't like him for different reasons. She said I had no choice but to come home since my mom had heart issues & needed me. Brad didn't want me to go, so I told him to meet my family & we all left the following day.

Brad now feels distrust with her & said if I didn't leave my home by the end of the month, then he'd end the relationship even though he's not going to help me leave here truly. So I decided to move because my old neighbor who had her lease terminated and was facing eviction because of the hell she's caused never got evicted! Management is so fucking shitty for that! I'm the second neighbor to complain on her for the harassment and excessive loud noises and fights with her boyfriend in her household.

So she didn't get the fuck out and I left! I found a new place. The new place is in a more urban area in comparison and a little run down but doable. I intend on cleaning everything over so me and my child could feel comfortable. It would only be for 1 year.

With a low credit score, other reasons and the fact I'm breaking my lease and had to find a new apartment to avoid renewing my lease has been hard enough! I couldn't find shit and time was ticking.

So my mom TODAY threatens to fight me, calls me a hoe and piece of shit after seeing the apartment and area. Calls everyone she knows talking badly about me. This was all over the apartment and area! I decided to disconnect myself from her. She wasn't even trying to be positive or supportive or thankful I got out of the toxic and miserable previous apartment.

I don't even know what to think, it's crazy. Her reaction was as if I called her a bitch or set her house on fire or something.

Thoughts?

I am currently facing a situation where I don't know what to do. My family has been toxic throughout my life and has not allowed me any privacy growing up, which already takes its toll. I had to sneak around and date once I reached college because of how crazy my family was about it, to the point my serious 4-year relationship ended over it. Now, I have gotten serious with a guy (engaged), and my family disapproves of him because of his financial status (he doesn't make enough) and thinks he's abusive/disrespectful towards them and me. For example, my mom claims he's disrespectful because he hung up the phone on her while she was speaking. But she purposely interrupted my phone call with him, knowing that got him mad since we were trying to spend time together.

I lived with him (7 hours away from family) for a couple of months before my family got involved. My sister came saying that my mom wasn't doing well health-wise, and I had to leave to visit/take care of her. My partner didn't want me to go, but I didn't want to leave my family hanging, so I left. I came to find out that they planned to keep me here from June (when my sister came) to September/October for a "ceremony" where they could do their rites of passage before marriage. Still, I'm not confident they will actually do that with the way they all have been behaving about it as it's getting closer to time.

However, my partner has his quirks and isn't perfect. He does have trust issues because his last girlfriend cheated on him, so he fought over looking through my phone a couple of times in the past, but that's gotten resolved like other issues we had before. He marches to the beat of his drum, so he'll tell people if he doesn't think something is right according to his morals.

I don't want to compromise my relationship with my family, but I'm afraid that'll happen regardless. I understand my family's concerns about him, but he's not the bad person they portray him as. Help.
