Lost hair to a telogen alopecia at 18. Shave what’s left. Still have eyebrows and most body hair. I’m a decent looking guy, even told I’m handsome by many. But I’m 28 now and I’ve just had no luck dating. Never even been kissed or on a date. I’m very social, involved in many groups and activities, went through 4 years of college and always had big social circles. So so many times women have shared how they can’t believe I’m single etc but yet, sometimes even those same women, turn me down. There’s been a small few who were into me but honestly I just wasn’t attracted to them. That physical attraction has to be there as well as the emotional one. I got one life and I am not settling on what I want just due to a genetic condition. But I don’t blame the women who aren’t interested either, looks do matter, just sad to think hair really is such a big determining factor for men’s looks and there’s nothing I can do but wear a wig (which I actually started doing-a full custom one, it’s 2024 and makes me happy).

But yeah, I’ve probably asked out 40 odd women in the decade I’ve shaved my head, all no’s. About 12 made it clear it was the baldness. (I always journal so I have reread this many times and remember the numbers, probably not healthy) and I’m sure others were the same. Just sad, really wanted to be married to a young woman I found beautiful and who I loved dearly. Didn’t care about much else. Not interested in waiting until I’m older, nor in dating women older than me. I’m 27.

Honestly friends I think I may clock out here soon. Love each other out there and please be kind. We all need to learn to take rejection yes but please be kind giving it. This world is mean enough.

Now, Bozo's no dummy, he saw the Space Nazi skippin’ like a dipshit & giving hundreds of millions to Donny, & a dim light bulb went off over his head. "Oh shit, this is going to affect my bottom line". So he phones up the Washington Post & tells them that’s it, there will be no endorsement of Kamala Harris. Sure enough, 20 minutes after the announcement was made, this happened:

"Ex POTUS Trump met with leaders from the Jeff Bezos-owned aerospace company Blue Origin following his speech in Austin, Texas.

The Republican had a short meeting with the aerospace company CEO David Limp & VP of government relations Megan Mitchell, according to The Associated Press."

Editor Robert Kagan, who quit his WaPo after the news broke that the WaPo wouldn’t be endorsing Kamala:

“Trump waited to make sure that Bezos did what he said he was going to do, & then met with the Blue Origin people, which tells us that there was an actual deal made, that Bezos communicated with Trump, & they set up this quid pro quo.”

Bezos’s non-endorsement of Kamala Harris is actually a ringing endorsement of fascism. Capitulating in advance to a bully because you’re afraid of something that might happen is literally how appeasement & fascism works. Bezos knows that Donny will blow a fucking gasket and seek retribution if the Post backs his opponent.

Sorry to be the one to tell you this Jeff, but no fucking way, bro. There is no placating someone who is a bottomless well of need & greed. Has giving your lunch money to the playground bully ever been the end of it? Of course not. You’ve proven yourself an easy mark, & he’s definitely coming back for more.

The reason given for this policy is that you don't want to take the kid out of the game in the first quarter by giving a zero and creating a 30-week discipline & attendance problem. The local Board of Ed policy is we teachers have to leave room for them to pass the class. The math generally works like this across most districts that I'm aware of:

WITH THE ACTUAL EARNED ZERO (NOT LIKELY - MY EXPERIENCE IS IT'S USUALLY IN THE '30S OR '40S BECAUSE OF CLASS WORK & ASSESSMENTS) The kid would need to get a MINIMUM 81 EACH quarter AND on the midterm & final just to pass with a 65%.

WITH THE UNEARNED 50%: Each quarter is worth 2/10 of your final grade and the midterm and final is worth 1/10 of your final grade so, if you crunch the numbers, it's 2 * 50 = 100 and then you need 8 * 68 = 552 for a total final grade of 65.2% which is a passing grade.

So here's the question: Do you give them the freebie grade of 50 and only ask them to achieve a 68% average for the rest of the year or so you demand better and measurable improvement and make them work for the MINIMUM 81 for the next 30 weeks?

BEFORE YOU ANSWER KNOW THIS:
1) I have never known a department chair person to say no to a teacher's discretion to change the grade to whatever the most "common good" is; that is to say if the kid doesn't get the minimum 81 to pass but has shown improvement up to say let's say in the low mid-70s or even high 60s, as long as that chairperson gets a heads up on WHAT you're doing it's absolute teacher discretion, the WHY is left to us (correctly I believe) to determine after 40 weeks of being with that student.
2) EVEY ASSIGNMENT IS ONLINE for parents to view 24/7

So what's it going to be? Mediocrity or merit? Freebies or no free lunches? What's the "common good" for the student, the teacher, the school, the parents, the college, future employers and the community and nation at large?
