This all started at a 5-day convention a year ago, followed by 2 more each of these lasting a weekend, held by some EU history university faculties. Right after we first saw each other we held our gazes on each other noticeably longer than usual. Soon after that, she came to stand next to me, in a group I was already with, and I tried to talk to her but it was difficult as her stuttering and nervousness was quite bad. Sometimes when walking past me she would turn her head towards me and stare at me while she walked into another direction. During presentations at all 3 conventions where we met and at break times she'd regularly stare, hold her gaze at me or glance over towards me several times. She only stutters and becomes tense with me.

I'm a guy, we're both history students with an interest in labor history. She lives in Austria, and she knows, since we first met, that I live in Sweden. She seems introverted, and tends to stick with people from her own faculty. Yet, she consistently has this behavior I described earlier to just me, and at every convention she also takes initiative to come and talk with me, and when she doesn't tense up or stutter, she smiles at me too.

However, she also does seem to give signals of seemingly disinterest like she doesn't respond to most of my chat messages, she only wrote me that she's the worst at chatting which she wrote me after I complimented her appearance of her selfie in a story post. That was before our most recent convention in last April, but her behavior during this convention seemed unchanged and similar to before, ie still stuttering and tense with only me but walks over to talk with me with a smile. She also regularly still held her gaze at me during presentations and break times. Later, when we had a bit of small talk she suddenly walked away from me, but while walking away from me she turned her head to me and kept looking at me.

The next time I will likely see her is in 4 weeks at a convention lasting a week.

Minnesota GOP State Sen. Votes Against Free School Lunch, Says He's Never Met Hungry Kids

Minnesota kids will soon get free school lunches across the state, no thanks to a Republican state senator who voted against the bill because he said he’s never met a hungry kid in his state.

“I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that is hungry,” Republican state Sen. Steve Drazkowski said Tuesday on the Senate floor in St. Paul before voting against the legislation. “I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that says they don’t have access to enough food to eat.”

Approximately 1 in 6 children in Minnesota are food insecure, meaning they don’t know where or when their next meal will be available, according to a fact sheet from anti-hunger groups in support of the bill.
“Being hungry makes learning almost impossible,” state Sen. Heather Gustafson, a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party, said on the Senate floor. “Let’s feed the kids.”

During his arguments, Drazkowski called the proposed program “pure socialism.”
“Now, I should say that hunger is a relative term,” Drazkowski added. “I had a cereal bar for breakfast. I guess I’m hungry now.”
If Drazkowski wanted to find one of those hungry children he claims to have “yet to meet,” he could check the very county he represents. In Wabasha County, more than 8% of kids lived in poverty in 2021, up from about 7% the previous year, according to the Federal Reserve of Economic Data.

Democrats, would you consider bailing me out... I lost some $ years back to my own bad decisions, and I could use that $ now. I'm not desperate, but I could use better lifestyle like everyone else. It doesn't make sense to me to call up the President and get a persional bailout... I'm not in a union.

Cost is $.01 each.

If it means in the future you can't afford bread, or eggs or pay your rent, it is what it is... I just want a fraction of a cent from every democrat. I ain't askin' much.

... just like the PRIVATE labor unions with poorly managed pension funds just got from everyone, regardless of their standard of living. You are paying for this like all prior bailouts and I just wonder, if you support it.

So why not bail out each other... it's cheap? How about if we all form into a union, and we bailout everyone?

I strongly suspect we need a LOT more bailouts when you look at the homeless and broke population.

And yes, I know the govt has bailed out banks, and investment companies, private investors, and such. It's disgusting, but I didn't approve those... crooked Republicans and Democrats. Bail me out, then I'll bail you out.
