Do you agree with the Biblical concept if a person refuses to labor then they should starve in hunger, why, why not?

2 Thessalonians 3:6-12

But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us.

For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.

Of course not, and because the Bible explicitly says to not let people go hungry:

The context Jesus is referring is when Christians were being persecuted and struggling and needing help yet professing Christians ignoring them, not some bum who refuses to work.

No, He was referring to people who hungered and thirsted. At no point did He make any claims that help should be provided only to those who'd proved themselves worthy; see Luke 10:30.

Understand if a person is young and healthy yet doesn't desire to move a finger to work then why should they eat?

The Bible in Proverbs teaches a idle person will suffer hunger.

The politics that say that charity should be limited to the deserving; that the "useless eaters" shouldn't be helped.

The Bible in Matthew (as I've mentioned), Deuteronomy 15:11, Isiah 41:17 and 58: 7 and Heb10, John 3:17-18, Luke 3:11, Hebrews 13:2, and even Proverbs 14:31, 19:17, 21:13, 22:9, 25:21, and 28:27.

It says HELP the needy, not administer a questionnaire to see if the needy qualify for assistance.

The difference is between can’t work and won’t work. I don’t think God would approve of the lazy and self indulgent attempting to play our heart strings so that they may fleece us, nor do I think God approves of laziness in general.

Work is a divine principal.

So, yeah, helping the needy and enabling the lazy are too different things. Ultimately since we are stewards of God’s money we must choose how to use it wisely.

Charity should be limited to those who do not intend to use said gains on hedonism and self indulgence.

Take for example the drunk or the drug addict. If they can’t afford their habits they’re free to quit them, and yes, in most states rehab is tax payer funded.

Take for example homeless vets. The VA has a program where they will not have any homeless vets. We pay taxes for that. There’s help automatically available to them if they choose it.

I know in Clark County, NV they have a no homeless person policy for anyone and everyone. They have free shelters, food, beds, etc. However, few if any homeless there use them. Why? Because there are rules. Can’t come and go as you please. Can’t get high or drunk there. etc etc. Many of these people do not like rules and self discipline which is exactly what got them where they are to start.

This is not to mention the abundance of soup kitchens and churches who give dinners to help the very poor and homeless.

So there is help all over, but most of these people who are homeless addicts. That brings us to the next issue. I’m not interested in hearing about mental health. Lots and lots of people have all kinds of mental health issues and manage to hold a job.

I’d sooner donate money to the poor of other countries than homeless Americans. Dude, even many of our poor people are fat! They’re getting by just fine if that’s what they choose.

Everybody isn't meant to be rich, God created some people to be poor and lazy. God created some people to help the poor, that's the purpose of the world. So we should all lend a helping hand to one other.

I don’t think it’s about should or shouldn’t. People that don’t work are going to starve, but even people that are working are currently starving too

Refuse - yes, let them starve. Can’t due to a legit disability - those ones you feed. The lazy ones will get it together when they get hungry enough or die.
