I''ve had the Hallmark Channel (W Network here in Canada) on all day, watching Christmas movies in the background. They're pretty, heartfelt (yes, a bit too sappy sometimes too), and always end well. Lots of themes about loss and love.

Anyway, even with the volume on mute I can often kind of tell what's going on in the plot. These two characters, man and a woman working together on some business project (whatever, not important), just gave each other a hug and there was a camera on each of them, cutting to their different reactions. It was obvious they both have feelings for each other but haven't expressed it openly yet (they'll end up together, don't you worry), so the hug was long, lingering, but also kind of sad. They clearly did not want to say goodbye.

And it got me to thinking. Do you think the world is missing more hugs? Or are they too abundant already/insincere? And does it matter if it's the same gender, or opposite?
(IGNORE COVID. Who wants to talk about that again. Pretend we're living not in a time of Covid.)
Do you want more hugs, or do you prefer your personal space?

I'm very affectionate with people I'm close to. But I don't like hugging complete strangers as a greeting. I would hug some people I've been talking to online, if I ever met them in person. I've even dreamt about that.

NATIONAL HUGGING DAY is - January 21, 2021

I kinda wanna talk about this issue because how men react to emotion is alarming. Put aside what your dads and your moms told you, men, "men don't cry", "act like a man", "you're being a ____"--

I want to know do all men actually feel like you can't express yourself to anyone? Leave the 'no homo' thing behind, leave the pride behind and actually say this. I've allowed the anon button for you who want to express yourself on this situation.

If you don't know what toxic masculinity is, it's you telling a man/boy/kid to not cry bc men "don't cry", they "don't share" or "show emotion" or they're "weak". I'm gonna be honest but that really bothers us women (leaving the closure and the relationships to the side) because we want to know, if you're a friend or a stranger that you're ok. The rates for suicide for men are so high and it's because they're taught to suppress their feelings and usually that creates a problem in a relationship for someone whether they're from the lgbtq community or in a straight relationship. Abuse sometimes happens because they're taught to suppress feelings. So I want to know. What do YOU think about toxic masculinity? Remember this is anon so technically (hopefully) you feel you're safe here (:

I watch this video from a blooger and he is a man. He said this:

"" Todays love is so boring. Everyone trying to feel less as much as possible so the other person won't be scared. " I Love you" but I won't tell you or express it, "I miss you but I won't speak to you", I want to see you but I won't move" .
Showing interest in the other person nowadays seems like some kind of embarrasment action or behavior" unquoted.

Whatever happened wtih a man being chivalrous and woo a woman like in other times? Do women now do not like that anymore?

Who do you think is at fault of this in this time? Just to name a few

-Less committment
- Hectic lives
- Easy to express feelings it over internet
-Women being independent
-Feminism (cause they dont need a man in their lives to survive or being cared they are on their own)
-Infidelity
-Internet
-People behavior had changed over times
-Men and woman now just want hook ups and not committment
