I’ve worked with a guy for two and a half years. We have a flirty relationship and we tease each other. Examples of him flirting include: prolonged eye contact, staring, gazing into both eyes and at my mouth, doing silly things to get my attention, showing slight jealousy.

We bumped into each other on a night out and a random person thought we were a couple. He said “I should be so lucky” and later on I admitted to him that I really like him and have feelings for him.

I asked him if he liked me/felt the same way and he said “you’re a lovely person”. I kept asking him, and he kept saying the same thing.

I then said “please answer the question” and he snapped at me saying “yes I do but we can’t be together”

We both drank a bit but he didn’t seem overly drunk at all.

Do you think there was any truth in what he said and do you think he meant it?

Could this indicate that he likes me more than a friend?

So now I’m being crazy, but because he ignored what I said, does that mean he doesn’t find me attractive or cute?

Hey, so I have a huge crush on a male coworker. We are quite close at work and we flirt together. However, we are not in a position to date each other.

I saw him the other weekend and we were both a little drunk. I ended up telling him how I felt about him. I asked him if he liked me back and he said “you’re a lovely person”. I kept asking him, and he kept saying that I’m lovely. Eventually, he said “yes I do, but we can’t be together” and then we had a couple of quick kisses on the lips.

Since then, he’s been awkward around me at work. There is a stark contrast between how he was before and how he is now. He says that everything’s fine and our friendship is unaffected. HOWEVER, a few weekends ago, we met up on a night out. I had too much to drink and I ended up telling him that I really liked him as more than a friend. I asked him if he liked me back, to which he said "you're a lovely person". I kept asking him, being persistent with it - he kept repeating “you’re a lovely person” and I eventually said "just answer the question", to which he replied "yes, I do but we can't be together etc". I think we had a few quick kisses on the lips, not a proper kiss, but a peck.

The day after, I apologised to him for potentially putting him in an awkward position, to which he said "don't worry about it".

The next week at work, he apparently wasn't aware of what happened. I told him that I had kissed him and he looked shocked, saying "that's not ideal, I wouldn't have kissed you properly". For the rest of the week, he barely spoke to me and was hot and cold in his behaviour towards me.

He has gotten better but he doesn't flirt with me like he used to before all this happened. He has shown being jealous because he overheard me saying I was going on a date. I saw him look in my direction and when I told him to have a nice weekend, he abruptly said “bye”

Was there any truth in him telling me that he likes me? Does he still like me? If so, why is he being weird?
