We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.
-Mother Teresa
People always ask me why I'm always smiling and I never really know how to respond to them. The answer is very simple, it's just how I am. I like smiling and making others smile and feel good about themselves. And if you don't like smiling as much as I do, I'll give 5 good reasons to smile:
- It can make you happy, even when you're not. The simple act of smiling sends a message to your brain that you're happy and when you're happy, your body pumps out all kinds of feel-good endorphins.
- It can make others happy. Smiling is contagious. Give to the world and the world will give back to you. Smile at the world and the world will smile back at you. You will brighten the days of those around and make a difference in their lives, simply by smiling.
- It makes you more attractive. People look their best, and happiest, when smiling. So the next time you are about to ask someone on a date, smile. It'll make them feel happier and you'll already be more attractive in his or her eyes!
- It helps to release stress. Smiling may help to reduce symptoms associated with anxiety. Simply using the same muscles as smiling will put you in a happier mood, so try smiling even if you don't feel like it! It will make you feel better!
- It just feels good. Smiling just feels good, so next time you're feeling down, try a smile :)
