Another week, another outburst from the Feminist community.

Nicole Arbour, a comedian from Ontario, has been under fire for her "fat-shaming" YouTube video. She since lost her job. (https://zap2it.com/2015/09/dear-fat-people-comedian-fired/ )

Charlotte Proudman, a British lawyer, was in the news after receiving a "misogynistic" and "sexist" message from Alexander Carter-Silk, a senior barrister, via LinkedIN. Carter-Silk is still under scrutiny and could lose his job or, at the very least, has had his career dented.

Both these cases were completely blown out of proportion.

In the situation of Nicole Arbour, it is plain to see she's using satire and her female charm to poke fun of those larger than life. None of it was meant to offend, but it seems a lot of people have no backbone.

At a glance, the Proudman saga is a private conversation turned nation outrage. Sure Carter-Silk's comments on Proudman's profile were highly unprofessional; however was there really any need to include his name in the Tweets??

But let's look as this critically.

Can you tell what major difference lies between Nicole Arbour and Charlotte Proudman, besides their profession?

Their looks.

Nicole Arbour is a woman one might call 'Aggressively Beautiful'. She's a very attractive woman and she actively shows it. If you take a minute to watch her video 'Dear fat people', you'll notice it.

Charlotte Proudman on the other hand is what we call 'Inconspiciously Beautiful'. She is definitely above average, but she doesn't express it as much as Arbour... in other words she's more 'conservative'.

However Proudman is a different version of 'Inconspicious Beauty', and I hope this video can show you why?

You know what's worse than "fat shaming"? Assholes that go around telling people to "stop fat shaming" because they believe they "have the right to be fat" and that their individual decision to "be fat" doesn't affect anyone else around them.

News flash, Obamacare.

If I'm young and healthy, I pay just as much in health insurance costs as someone that's old and unhealthy. Why? Because "I" am "subsidizing" other peoples' healthcare. It's like social security taxes, only without purporting to actually increase social security taxes. It's the young and healthy working for the old and unhealthy. It's shifting wealth away to those in need.

Now, without even going into attacking the merits of that kind of social system and social safety nets... there's one thing we can all agree on. It's nobody's fault for getting old. It's nobody's fault for having medical accidents occur. It's nobody's fault for being born with a disability or medical condition that makes it nearly impossible to maintain a healthy body weight.

There's another side of that coin though.

When you're not an innocent blameless victim of life's circumstances, but your own "voluntary choices" are the reason "I" have to "pay more" in health insurance costs... and on top of that, you have the audacity to open up your mouth and say something as stupid as "stop fat shaming" ... then you're a fucking asshole.

Society is not "fat shaming." Society is telling people to "not be assholes."

Voluntarily being fat = being an asshole

The reason you "feel ashamed" is because you know whatever it is that society is criticizing you for doing is "wrong" and "shameful."

It's your emotional self telling you... "STOP BEING AN ASSHOLE!"

The solution is not to turn around and tell people... "stop telling me to stop being an asshole!"

The solution is to simply "STOP BEING AN ASSHOLE!"

Mostly agree with you but the "Obama care" comment took away any validity you had in an otherwise we'll written point. OK ok, we get it, you're either 1. A libertarian
2. A conservative
3. A Fox news viewer.
If you would have just not thrown in the Obama care I could have backed you 100%. But that phrase just shows the right amount of batshit crazy to allow everyone to see your true colors, and overall mental stability "or lack thereof".

I don't know about the whole Charlotte Proudman thing, I'm not really big on commercial news. But in terms of the fat shaming video, if you look up video reactions on youtube you can see a lot of people getting really upset and hurt.
I don't think her intentions were bad, but after watching some of those reaction videos where people literally break down crying, it's clear that whatever its intention, that video was of a bully.
Just like in high school, someone making fun of someone else for the way they look.
Her video was hurtful period. The backlash that followed was people sticking up for themselves.
Bullies commonly only say hurtful things as a "joke" to make others laugh. In this case no one was laughing.
Not everyone is as strong as you are, i mean we live in a time where people will kill themselves because of online bullying.
This isn't just about "dear fat people" as the video was titled, lots of people struggling with self image are affected by this. This type of video should not have been made. This is not the 80's, we do not live in a John Hughes movie where bullying people is considered funny.
It would be nice to think we've evolved past hurtful jokes.

I've known some real asshole fat people in the past. I had a boss that morbidly obese and he was the most hideous, heinous, bullying POS I have ever met in my life. He constantly verbally harassed and personally attacked his employees. I didn't stay there long but the biggest thing that pissed me off was that I could not point the obvious i. e. that he looked like an obese terrorist due to political correctness. Several fat people I've met are loud, arrogant and insecure. However they get a pass on their behavior because they have PC protection. They get all the leeway in the world to bully skinny people because they are insecure about themselves. I have no sympathy for those people. On the flip side I have met very nice overweight people too. Those people I would never shame. With that said most fat people are in denial about their conditions. PC or not they need to hear the TRUTH. But the truth is considered hate speech nowadays

By putting that out there socially she hurt a lot of people, she didn't help them. In fact she could have done some serious damage. Who knows maybe she did.
Truth without context is damaging.
I've known skinny assholes and I've known fat ones. Their weight isn't the deciding factor in what makes them an asshole.
And being overweight isn't necessarily due to someone's over-indulgences with food, for some weight gain is due to a medical condition or as a result of medication.

Having a rant on YouTube about how offensive she finds it to just see a fat person, like the whole world revolves around her and everyone who happens to be overweight (no matter the reason) should hide away so that her day isn't spoiled is the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.

Yes there are skinny assholes too but unless they are a minority, female, homosexual or belong to some other "special" group they do not get the same PC protection as a fat person does. No doubt her rant probably did hurt many people's feelings... but some people need a splash of cold reality as a motivator at times. I was once a chubby kid in middle school. The fact that I was male, socially awkward and part red head I was complete OPEN SEASON for bullying and taunts. I turned to sports to toughen myself up a bit. Not saying that was end all, cure all but that negative reinforcement did give me motivation to change.

I want to but I have to confess that I'm currently getting scoped out at my new job. They are paying me good money but I know they going through all my social media accounts. Okay I looked into the Charlotte Proudman case and I do agree that he should not be punished for it, because even though I do think it was unprofessional he didn't say anything very inappropriate.
