Having a preference is totally fine.. making fun of someone is wrong.. but if they ask for an opinion.. I'll give my honest one.. if you are fat then you are.. I'll not call it curvy.. if you are as skinny that bones are sticking out then I'll call it skinny and anorexic.. 😊
I've been seeing this a lot lately. Or they state how much they are against body shaming, but they turn around and body shame someone of the opposite sex. Preferences are one thing, we all have them. But to tear someone down because of it is uncalled for. Just wish them the best and go your separate ways.
Models are skinny bc they make clothes look good. The point is to sell clothes. I think people forget this fact...
by the way... Being fat with tattoos is disgusting
The top two causes of death in the US are heart disease and cancer. Both of those causes can be directly related to issues derived from being obesity. To try and normalize being overweight is to say it okay to slowly kill yourself. People need to wake up and realize that just because they want to live a unhealthy lifestyle that doesn't mean the country as a whole should celebrate it.
How about learn to love yourself actually fall in love with your self. Wheny you love yourself Nothing anyone says will pierce that veil of love yo I have for yourself. So let's teach people how to love themselves inside out
people came to assume that we don´t "accept" other body types just because hard to achieve body types are presented to us in the media. body types that get a lot of people jealous so they´d like to see their own body type in the media in order to feel better about themselfes.
Majority is skinny, so we have to reduce it.
I want less skinny models on midia and magazines.
I dont want my kids starving and eating bad because some fuc*** up minds in model business things that that kind of body is more perfect than the others.
I don't think your kids will starve themselves just cuz of this, seeing as 60% or so of Americans are overweight and lazy...
@love2run13 starve or not it wouldn't hurt to have a more diverse media, personally I like skinny athletic women but it doesn't mean those who are more plus sized or even average are bad. The media makes it seem (to a child who has less of an understanding of things) that only 1 out of 100 "pretty people" are average size or larger which does a number on a kids self esteem. There is a problem here studies have been done on young children and their self esteem which is largely effected by the media. Over 80 percent of 10-year-old girls are afraid of being fat, that to me is a problem. Im sorry you are so misinformed about these things but I'm here to tell you that there is a lot of these issue on the go and eating disorders are still a huge issue in America and many other first world countries. The opinion owner put it poorly but the media over the last couple decades has caused a spike in eating disorders specifically in young girls.

@love2run13 i hope not... but there are plenty of sad stories about messed up girls because of this.
@Cjanes, great answer. When you said the 80% study... damn... we really have to try to be better parents.
Thank you very much, it's a big issue I feel however it's hard to be good parents with so many things in your path trying to corrupt the impressionable
fat is just not attractive! fat people can just go fuck themselves. why this society wants to make skinny women feel bad like wtf! we gon have a universe full of fat disgusting people? hell nah! then we all gon die from heart disease! y'all fat motherfuckers hit the gym and stop tryna over power skinny with y'all fat smelly disgusting body!
The big problem with all of it is, people separate things into two classes: "Fat" vs "Skinny." There are many more body sizes and types than those two.
you are right
Being fat is not healthy or 'normal', it's a maladaptation to the modern world and the constant availability of the wrong kinds of food. It should be thought of and treated like what it is, a problem.
Some people are naturally fat just like some people are naturally skinny.
@DonyChicago
No, some people are certainly more robust and some are more delicate but unless you have a glandular malfunction the problem is being badly adapted to modern food and lifestyle. People are not adapted to eat grain, sugar and starch heavy diets and many need to be far more active than they are. The problem is diet and lifestyle.
You'd think it's much more productive to promote a healthy body type rather then body shaming.
There's too much fat > skinny or skinny > fat. Body shaming helps creating a twisted image like this.
I think people should mind their own business... who cares what the other looks like, if you are so caught up with how someone looks that means you are unhappy with yourself and ultimately will want to elude the fact there is something wrong with "you"
I myself i'm a very skinny guy I can eat all day n i won't rain shit unless i pig out every singleday. SEe my day was just like me as a kid but when he turned 29 something happened now he's huge as fuck. As for fat people my little brother was very fat and you know What he did about it? He hit the gym 4 days a week for 1 year Now he's ripped as fuck. So long story short if your fat 50% of the time its because your lazy and if your skinny its because your never hungery.
Same here. I was underweight until I got a job where I sit in front of a computer 8 hours per day, and ate large portions of Mexican every single day. And of course slept all the time.
Of course now I could stand to lose some, but it took a lot of deliberate effort to get to that point.
I agree with you on the part where you said, stop making skinny people feel bad. I have noticed that skinny shaming significantly more common than fat shaming.
There are way too many fucktards on this post. I agree with the sentiment youve stated.
I think that a person's weight is a personal matter, because health is a personal matter. You can be beautiful in any size. The best we can hope is that proper education about nutrition will be taught in school.
I guess people feel that having only skinny models is in a way shaming people without those standards.
In my opinion, a company could do whatever they want with whoever they want to.
If you don't like that a certain magazine doesn't use bigger models, then find one that does. If enough people think like you then things will change.
I don't mind either way.
Personally, people will hate me on this.
I tell people regularly to diet.
But wait.
I do it for your health. A friend of my mom, who was obese, recently got a heart attack, and she's 30. I tell you to be skinny not for you to look pretty but so you will not die.
I wish fat people would understand why we told them to diet.
We get it, we see fat as ugly, but is that burger really worth the heart attack?
funny how you don't want to say the word fat. Fat and curvy are two different things. Aside from that, People always judge, and always will, no use in trying to create an utopia
I agree, though I don't believe we should be encouraging "unhealthy" bodies, it's really more a question of "is this person killing themselves?" rather than "ehh, am I attracted to fat people?"
There is no unhealthy body. Someone skinny or fat can be healthier than someone with a "normal" body. Someone can eat healthily but remains skinny and smeone can exercise and remain overweight. Some people are just made that way. And there are tons of people who starve themselves or never practise any physical activity who look "healthy".
@DonyChicago - there is an unhealthy body. Just because it's true that some overweight and underweight people might be more healthy than people of average weight doesn't mean it's true the majority of the time. The majority of overweight and underweight people get that way through bad eating and exercise habits. Being overweight or underweight both carry a much higher risk of many diseases and illnesses.
@AdamThomas You said "I don't believe we should be encouraging "unhealthy" bodies". I think you was referring to skinny persons. I think it is not good to say it that way because it sounds like you are saying that being skinny and being unhealthy is the same thing. You should have said "I don't believe we should be encouraging anorexia". This would have been better said.
@DonyChicago - you're getting me mixed up with Rex, I never said that, and I took it as meaning over or underweight people. In fact he never even said the word skinny nor did I, only you.
@AdamThomas sorry for the confusion. I thought you were the Opinion owner since you answered to my opinion.
