The curse of technology and media

Anonymous

We have come far now in 2015. Women have the same rights as men, segregation is mostly over and we have come far in technology.

We constantly make new things to keep us from getting bored and giving any effort. Is living so effortless really good for us? Is having technology and advertisment all over us really positive?

The curse of technology and media

We don't know what real struggle is

In this world full of technology we invent things all the time to make our life easier and less stressfull.

Before we used to have this old fashioned lawn mower:

And now instead, it's popular to buy this robot lawn mower:

By getting things to make our daily life even easier, we end up in a big shock if we actually end up in some real life problems.

For us waiting a while in line is an annoyance and a crisis for us, but in very poor countries they just hope they survive the day.

We have become lazy and have no idea what problems actually is.

Who used to be our rolemodels are not anymore

These should be the people we look up to:

Not these:

What happened to the people that wanted to change the world? We almost never hear about them. Instead we let these kinds of people take over as rolemodels instead. These are the type of people who would be looked down on not long ago.

Society expresses its sympathy for the geniuses of the past to distract attention from the fact that it has no intention of being sympathetic to the geniuses of the present.”

Oversexualization

Whe constantly get bombarded by ads telling us what to act and look like.

For girls we hear: That we must be pretty, we must have big boobs, we must have a good butt, we must act feminine.

For guys they hear often: They must be handsome, they must have muscles, they must be tall, they must have a big dick, they must act manly..

Because of this no one feel good about how they look anymore and looks become important even for the youngest.

Relationship, friendship and family is not as appreciated as what it was before

When we hang out with people we often sit on phone and talk in silence. What happened to the good old fashioned way where we had eye contact when we talked to each other and no other distractions?

The curse of technology and media

We have no privacy any more, we share everything on social media and we show so much affection with words, but when so many people throw around the words '' I love you'' to everyone haven't these three words lost it's meaning?

Eldery people have worked their whole life, but when they can't work or live for themselves anymore they are forced to go to eldery homes, where they often are treated unworthy.

The more social media we have, the more we think we're connecting, yet we are really disconnecting from each other'' JR

Violence does not surprise us anymore

There are lots of violence on tv, internet, video games and we are shown pictures of dead bodies all the time on the news.

Being overexposed to violence can make us quit caring about the deaths and wars happening in other countries just because '' they feel so far away'' which is really not a good thing. Wars and violence is serious and it's something we should still care about even in 2015.

I wrote this because I thought we needed an eye opener. So what could we do in this messed up world?

Well...... there is still hope:

Be yourself and not a sheep

Be happy about your flaws. You don't have to follow every trend to be perfect.

The curse of technology and media

They use tons of makeup and also photshop to make the celebrities look prettier so just be happy about your face, because reaching the beauty you see in commercials is pretty much impossible.

You where born an orginal. Don't die a copy''

Make love not war

The curse of technology and media

When you see someone no matter their gender, their sexuality, their race, their looks just be nice and friendly. It's impossible for everyone to love everyone, but give more chances to the people you see. A person who is very shy or is very ugly could be one of your best friends if you gave them a chance.

I see on this site that a lot off people hate the opposite gender, but if they where more open minded, things could change.

The curse of technology and media

Care about your family more and be happy about the good things they did for you even if you don't get along all the time, care about your friends more, show appreciation for your lover more. Don't start useless fights, but instead discuss it peacefully.

Be affectionate, but at the same time try to use time to get to know people, '' friends'' are not people you have just known in around an hour, you have to take time to know who they really are.

The curse of technology and media

One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself'' Golden rule

Care about the environment

The earth is our baby, our home. So we should treat it as something precious.

Be a good role model for the future generation

Try taking the hard way instead of the easiest, don't hang around too much on the computer or on the phone.

Spend more time outside and take walks in the forest instead of sitting inside watching tv for 8 hours. Don't do the things you would not like your children to do. So be a good example.

These are examples of not good rolemodels: Nobody is perfect, but important to try at least .

Never stop fighting until you arrive at your destined place - that is, the unique you. Have an aim in life, continuously acquire knowledge, work hard, and have perseverance to realise the great life'' Morihei Ueshiba

This is just what I mean. I just feel it's too much media and ads nowadays and we have stopped really caring about the important things.

But some comments would be nice even some grammar correction, since I really want to try to get better grades in English. I'm not an English speaker so grammer errrors probably all over...
