I've been told this *a lot*... I found that I just wear lots of layers of clothes (even layers under my jeans), and it's ok. So that's my routine lol...
If your too skinny... if your to fat... too tan... too light... too short.. too tall... they can judge by how your family acts... etc.. its not anything new only now they have a name for it!
Of course it is. Body shaming is a thing and it happens to both genders and to many different body types.

Skinny shaming is obviously even stupider than fat shaming. But how many guys do this? Guys generally like skinny girls over fat girls based on polls on here and it doesn't seem like something they would do. Sound like girls being catty to each other me.
@Ginnyweasley97 I can't tell you whether or not it's worse. On the one hand, it would suck twice as much if guys did it in equal measure. But on the other hand, we talk mostly about women getting shamed but never rarely women as shaming more often. Guys are never treated as innocent even when they are. They become complicit by way of existing. This reveals attitudes in society which make it even harder to correct since we can't see the problem clearly.
how is "most girls wish they looked like you" shaming? But I know what you are trying to get to. The problem is girls hurt themselves to be skinny, girls who are just naturally skinny are healthy, but fat people are not healthy.
We want what we can't have. Just because society glorified skinny bodies does not mean we all like being skinny. Just because other girls wish they were skinny does not mean that skinny girls are not allowed to have insecurities.
Yea, i feel you. My high school life sucked, wasn't a nerd but got picked on for being too skinny. Now I'm 6'2" and weight 170 lbs and people still talk shit, but it does not bother me as much.
Guys certainly get skinny shamed! But, I think the reason skinny shaming isn't as much of a concern right now is the fact that a) there are more fat people than skinny people in the west and b) fat females are stigmatized more than skinny ones.
Wooo, nice myTake! Skinny shaming has been around as long as fat shaming. Skinny people seem to have brushed it off until the attacks have increased over the last couple of years.
It is a thing but the thing with skinny shaming is that you never, ever wish you were fat. Fat girls wish they were thin every day, a skinny girl doesn't wish to be fat and that's the difference.
Skinny girls don't wish that they're fat (Well, some do), but girls who are too skinny and want to gain weight often wish that they were THICK (Curves in all the right places) like me, or that they just want to gain weight to get to a normal weight. So you can be skinny and wish to gain weight.
It's because this is a reaction to the unacceptable beauty standards imposed by society today. If you think you have it rough, try to put yourself in the shoes of a fat woman. Skinny women like you are on Fashin TV in the catwalk and not only.
Except super thin models don't look good, and they get a lot of shit for their bodyweight. People are constantly calling them "unhealthy" "anorexic" "flat" and "too skinny" in the media, so it's not really that glorified anymore.
Yes, because people with emaciated bodies, dry skin, rotting teeth, lanugo, thinning hair, early onset osteoporosis, and pacemakers are sooooo sexy. Listen, as someone who actually knows something about being skinny, or at least the sort of skinny that fat kids who are shamed into hating their bodies wind up becoming, believe me when I say that there is absolutely nothing 'okay looking' about someone who has died of starvation or a heart attack thanks to the weakening of the heart muscle which is an inescapable result of starvation diets. If you knew anyone who struggled with anorexia, I'm sure you'd have a little more compassion.

Yep you don't want to be 'the skinny guy' at the beach.
Really? that must suck! but not surprising ever one judges everyone!

I am just glad it's starting to be seen as unacceptable. Too many times I have been told I have it easy or other girls wish they had my body.
Of course it is. Body shaming is a thing and it happens to both genders and to many different body types.

I don't think I have ever been skinny shamed by a guy. It's always been by girls which I think makes it worse.

I get that, but it still isn't shaming... being insecure and being shamed are two different things.
There are girls who overeat in an attempt to gain weight, and it turns out pretty bad for them.
Yea, i feel you. My high school life sucked, wasn't a nerd but got picked on for being too skinny. Now I'm 6'2" and weight 170 lbs and people still talk shit, but it does not bother me as much.

I agree - it would be nice if everyone would just accept everyone else.
If only we lived in that world. =)

I support fat shaming, I despise skinny shaming. One takes effort, one takes laziness.
Both can kill you.
@boywithpinkhair Breathing and walking will kill you too but at least you'll look okay when you die if you eat less.
