Debunking The Defenders Of Islam

I think it's quite evidence that Islam is the biggest cult that threatens human freedom. The religion does indeed teach violence and bigotry, and it's time that people accepted the hard truth. Unfortunately, there are many non-Muslims in the West who are defending Islam and helping it to thrive. I would like to debunk their main arguments that they so often use:

1. Not all Muslims are violent. The majority of Muslims are peaceful people.

This is such a stupid argument. Any idiot knows that not all Muslims are violent. But we're not talking about the peaceful Muslims, we're talking about the ones who truly believe that their religion supports terrorism. If there existed a Nazi regime where 50% supported terrorism and the other 50% did not support terrorism, what do we do, focus on the 50% that are peaceful and ignore the threat of the other 50% who believe in killing non-Nazis? And besides, many of these "peaceful" Muslims are not really peaceful. I've had Muslim work colleagues who seemed like nice people, but eventually some of them admitted to me that they do want the destruction of Israel and that they support the death penalty for apostates. So for all the smarty pants who want to argue that there are many peaceful Muslims, what I'm talking about is the threat of the violent Muslims. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

2. You're just Islamophobic

Hmmmmmm. Well when there exists a religion that does encourage violence against non-believers and then you see more and more Muslims rioting on the streets and holding up signs that say, "Behead those who insult Islam," how do you expect the rest of society to feel? In my opinion, the real Islamophobes are those who are too afraid to criticize Islam, who hide behind political correctness. For all you people who defend Islam, I dare you to take a trip to Mecca or some other Islamic state and walk around with a sign that says, "Muhammad was a false prophet." Most of you wouldn't have the guts. You would be too afraid. Doesn't that make YOU the Islamophobe?

3. But what about violence in the Old Testament? What about the crusades?

For me, this is the most annoying and irritating argument. Pointing the finger at another religion does not abrogate the violence in your own religion. But most importantly, when I judge a religion, I do not judge it based on the actions of other people, I judge it based on what it teaches. So when I read the New Testament, is there any commandment that supports the crusades? The main message I see is "Love and pray for your enemies and turn the other cheek." But in the Koran and Hadiths, although there are some peaceful verses, there are many violent verses that many Muslims take seriously. Many people say that ISIS has nothing to do with Islam.The problem is that there are many verses in the Koran that ISIS can use to justify their evil actions. There are no Christian crusades today. So to distract people away from the threat of Islam by going back hundreds of years to the crusades is a very weak and pathetic tactic that only a idiot or liberal would fall for.

4. What about Western governments who are bombing innocent Muslims in the Middle East?

I condemn that. Any politician that is guilty of war crimes should be jailed. But what has that got to do with the threat of Islam? If you go back hundreds of years when Islam was in power, the Muslims were doing far worse than what our Western governments are doing. The fact is, even if Western governments were not interferring in Islamic countries, the Muslims would still want the destruction of Israel and would still want to enforce Islam. This is because of their religion. According to Islamic end time prophecy, judgment day will not come until the Jews have been defeated. As long as Islam exists in the world, there will never be peace, unless the whole world converts to Islam.

So, I'm ruling out points 2 and 4, as 2 is indeed a stupid argument, and 4 has nothing to do with the subject at hand.

So, point 2:
Following your argument, I'm sure I can come up with a few christian extremists (like, say, the KKK) who think it's cool to burn Black people and whatnot because that's how their vision of religion goes. And any slightly more standard Christian will say "that's not my religion" and hopefully, be right on that matter.
So the problem here comes from the fact you make a generalization over a whole community, judging by the actions of a dangerous minority.

This is exactly how ISIS convinces its recruits to start bombing random European capitals: by drawing a clear, perfectly unappropriate line between good (the "us") and evil ("them") which must be destroyed by all possible means. The problem isn't so much whether or not you are right, but what this kind of thinking leads to.

Point 3: The crusades argument is just proof that your answer to the second point doesn't work.
First of all, ISIS considers itself as a crussading army. Technically you could say they're just repeating Christian history with a couple hundred years of delay.
Which basically means can't reduce your religion to the parts you like about it if you don't let other people from other religions do the same with theirs.
Christianity, as far as anyone is concerned, isn't just the New Testament. If a terrorist group could suddenly decide they'll follow the Old Testament to the letter (and there are some truly horrific things in there), and claim they're the real Christians, the members of the non-Christian community who DON'T have a proper understanding of how the religion works will say exactly what you're saying about Islam.

To give you the general picture,
- ISIS is an extremist branch of
- Wahhabism, which is an extremist branch of
- Sunni Islam, which is one of the (I think) two main branches of
- Islam. Which is one of the three main (and very similar) monotheic religions currently ongoing

Additionally, most newly recruited djihadis have no correct knowledge of the Koran, increasingly come from other religions, which undermines the very idea that they might be 'real' muslims.
Worse, ISIS (which does teach the whole "violence and bigotry" topo) wants to kill other muslims a whole lot more than it wants to kill anybody else. Which to me doesn't make them 'real Muslims' either.

Obviously you didn't pay attention. First of all, I don't see Christians in the West calling for the death of apostates or stoning women to death. But here's why you missed the point and ignored what I said: I judge a religion based on what the religion teaches. If a church member blows up an abortion clinic, I look to see if the New Testament supports his actions. If a Muslim commits an act of terror, I look to see if the Koran and Hadiths support his actions. Why is that so hard for you to understand? Nowhere in the New Testament commands violence, but there are numerous verses in the Koran that support terrorism. So please stop acting like a typical liberal.

what's your problem with israel? the government of israel has tons of criticism from all types of people from all walks of life. you can google the crimes of that government and you'll see those muslims have a good reason for wanting it to stop occupying Palestinian land.
