Hypocrisy in Modern "Feminism"

The idea of feminisim is amazing. In fact I like to consider myself a feminist, but when you take a step back and look at the bigger picture you see a lot of hypcritical women calling themselves feminist.

I have met many women who consider themselves a part of the feminist movement, but yet are so mean and rude to other women.

A woman who wants to show her breast without a problem is labeled as a slut by some of these feminist, while others tell her she can't do that. That it is wrong, etc. But, if the same feminist were to come across a woman who was fully clothed head to toe and the only thing you could see were her eyes or her face they were tell her that she is pulling women back from all that they've worked for, tell her that she can't wear that, etc.

What is wrong with people? What is wrong with people wearing what they want?

Their happen to be other hypocritical things these women do as well. Such as saying women should have the righ to do whatever they want, but if a certain woman wants to be a stay at home wife and mom they get criticized and told that they are throwing women back into the 50s, that they should go out and get a job and be productive.

Sometimes I just don't understand these modern "feminist". Feminists who are real feminists, who aren't hypocrites and are more "Equalist"-- Those are the feminist that need to be recognized. Those are the the feminist I asspire to be. Feminists who chastize those who don't do exactly how they think things are supposed to be...Those aren't real feminist. And while I don't really like the term "Feminazi" those are the type of feminst that come to my mind when I hear that word.

I identify as feminist but I also have misanthropic streaks so I don't care if women decided to walk around naked because I simply don't give a shit in general. Lol. I think the reason why other feminists call women sluts is because of the deep seeded biological need to destroy sexual competition. If people just admitted that then things would make sense. I was asked if I thought women should be allowed to go topless on several occasions. If I say "No", I am told I am oppressive for telling women what they can do with their bodies, and I am the reason for feminism needing to exist. If I say "Yes", I am told that I just want to sexualize women, and that I am the reason for feminism needing to exist. If I say "I don't care" I am told that I am selfish for not caring about female issues and that I am the reason for feminism needing to exist.

No matter what we do a different type of feminists hates us. Men are really getting tired of always being the bad guy no matter what we say or do.

What the overarching label means is something entirely different. Like I said. The base principle is that women were oppressed for thousands of years. If you are a feminist. You have to believe that. You want to know why it's so easy for feminists to turn into manhaters? *It's because of the doctrine they follow that tells them men were pigs who oppressed them*. It's not that they are an *exception*--it's that they are the *result* of feminist belief structure.

I like that take - You can apply to a lot of causes - I believe most of this people have started off with good intentions (for the sake of the take we will say egalitarian) but somewhere along the line they have decided they need to focus on one group and take their views/politics to the extreme. I try to stay in the middle in a lot of these issues, yes one group is being discriminated against but if you go too far the other way you become a discriminator yourself.
Wishful thinking time but my ideal would be everybody step back and work to improve the lot of humankind as a whole regardless of gender/race/faith/sexuality etc.

If we're in agreement that women should be treated EQUALLY the same as men, and women are just as capable as men, then why suggest that women need to be (emotionally) handled with more care than men? Especially at a level like Heidi Cruz, Hillary Clinton, Rosie O'Donell, and Megyn Kelly, how come people say Donald Trump is mean to women, that he's a sexist because of the comments he makes about certain women... when he's really treating them just the same as he would if they were men?

@heavensgift2girls This is the perfect example. Women complain that they want to be treated the same as men as far as opportunities, pay, etc., and nobody is more fair about this than Donald Trump. He gives the best qualified individuals the job, man or woman, which when he was building Trump Tower in the early 1980's meant that a woman got the job. Now, that's fair.
He attacks his opponents when they attack him, or when it's needed because that's the game that's being played (Jeb Bush and family, 'Liddle' Marco, Lyin' Ted), and since Heidi Cruz isn't just a housewife who's husband is running for president, she's very politically active and would certainly play a role in a Cruz presidency, should THEY win, I think she's fair game for attack as well. She's a big girl, she can take it.

Here's the problem, this "golden age feminist" just doesn't exist. My mother was a 70's bra burning feminist and I saw the hate and fear that she spewed, I have read such authors as Margret Atwood, and have heard and read speeches from such people as Gloria Steinem, and other NOW activists. Even the suffragettes were a terrorist organization blowing up railroad buildings, etc. going back as far as you can feminism has had a hidden agenda, and has been more about hate and power then it ever was about acceptance and equality.

If a movement accepts speakers for itself, if they publish their work within textbooks intended for gender study classes, if they allow individuals to speak for them in front of political bodies such as the US congress, the United Nations, and international governing bodies, then those speakers, authors etc are the movement. And if those individuals also have spewed hate and rhetoric that is intentionally misleading and harmful, then it is fair to say that movement is a hate movement. The "dictionary definition " is completely undone by the acts of the leaders of the group. A movement is defined by the works not the words.

There was a myTake written on here about this girl named Tara Babcock. She's a model who runs her own gaming channel. Nearly every comment from women was some negative bashing of how the girl chooses to dress. I swear, you'd think you were reading a bunch of comments from some dudes. Women get SO INSECURE when they are in the midst of a woman who is several leagues more attractive than they are, and when push comes to shove, they revert back to their primordial instincts, regardless of what they say they believe in. Guys can act in a similar fashion. And im pretty sure if you asked them, most would identify as feminist. I just found it kinda funny.

I fully agree. Lots of women claiming to be feminists, basically gave the same message on that myTake when talking about her. They all alluded that her only value as a person was her body. That is at its core that is objectification something that feminists claim to be against, but have no problem doing if it helps them win an argument.

They only complain about objectification when they think it helps them win an argument. Otherwise they are all for objectifying other women as soon as it suits there motives.

Of course most of them tended to use veiled insults so they could deny it in case they got called out on it, but it was clear what they were doing to everyone that saw that train wreck. Actually it makes a lot of sense for him to prefer the wife to work. Women that stay at home end up with more power over their husbands if they ever divorce, as it is the bread winner that always gets screwed in court, no matter how bad the stay at home spouse was.

They should have their heads covered and their eyes should be DOWNCAST. Women should be banned from public places and men should always avoid them unless its about sex. Men are the masters and a woman's place is in submission.

In Ancient Rome men could put their women to death without trial. In India it is customary to burn the woman to death after her husband passes away. In Abrahamic tradition any woman who has pre-marital sex should be killed (stoned to death). In Africa, some cultures begin marriages with woman-beating.
