Shut Up Mixed Girl: A Poem About Being Mixed in America

Shutup Mixed Girl: a poem about being mixed in America

I am aware that I do not look "American" but that is perfectly fine with me

To be honest I do not give a shit if someone does not see American Patriotism in me

I am multiracial not biracial and I do not give a shit that most people think I look latina

When I was young kids laughed when I said I was black

But that's ok because I do not look black and I'm ok with that

My DNA is a middlefinger anyways, it says fuck the labels

I just want work hard like any other person to get at the American money table.

Im white, black and Asian and people think I look mestizo

I do not represent all people

I have no people

Fuck representation

I am no sheeple

I'm a wannabe artist with no imagination

Sometimes I do get mean

I do not want my character to be judged by my white, black and Asian genes

I'm not too keen on acceptance

It seems like everyone wants to be accepted

I came for my America

My skin is golden

My hair long

If you are trying to get accepted

This poem may not be for you

I'm just trying to get erected

So I can finish at the top of the successful pool
