Matthew Apperson — one of the many people who has gotten into a confrontation with George Zimmerman since he fatally shot Trayvon Martin in 2012 — was sentenced to 20 years in prison after shooting at Zimmerman a year ago.

Last month, Apperson, 38, was convicted of attempted second-degree murder, armed aggravated assault and shooting into a vehicle during his May 15, 2015, confrontation with Zimmerman, the Associated Press reported. Apperson, who unsuccessfully claimed he fired in self-defense, was sentenced Monday.

George Zimmerman-who, in case you need a refresher, shot Trayvon Martin, got away with it, and proceeded to brag and retweet pictures of Martin's corpse-isn't in jail. But apparently, shooting at Zimmerman's car will get you two decades in the slammer.

According to The Orlando Sentinel, 37-year-old Matthew Apperson of Florida was found guilty last month of attempted second-degree murder, armed aggravated assault, and shooting into a vehicle. On Monday, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison, which is the state-mandated minimum, unless you're George Zimmerman and you're shooting at an unarmed child.

Now this douche feared for is life, and someone got in jail for 20 years.
