Okay, can we try and be objective about this, just for a minute?

Does anyone REALLY think we could ever regress to the days of MLK and the 1920s, when KKK membership was at its peak? Honestly?

We have eight million laws and organizations and groups and amendments and rights coalitions in place, and none of that is going anywhere. Even if Trump wanted to turn minorities into second-class citizens (which he absolutely does not want to do; this businessman has glaring faults, and one of them is money), do you REALLY think he could? It wouldn't go anywhere; even if it got as far as the Supreme Court, any such thing would be shot down immediately.

It's utterly absurd to think those who fought so hard for their rights, including women and gays, are suddenly going to be stripped of their rights. Gay marriage is here to stay, whether Trump likes it or not. Clamping down on immigration has nothing to do with racism; it's about protecting a country. The U. S has one of the most lax immigration policies on the planet and it hasn't done us any favors, obviously. Look at Australia: It's TOUGH to get in there, isn't it? Wicked tough. Not only is it a booming country economically, with fantastic living conditions and general happiness levels among the citizens, but I don't recall many - if any - terrorist problems, do you?

The people who should have their rights still have them, and will always have them. Repeat: Even if Trump wanted to do something evil here, he couldn't. The dude is scary on a number of different levels, don't get me wrong, but the doom and gloom and this "racism will reign!" idiocy just has to stop. Trust me, the ACLU and the other thousand like-minded organizations aren't going anywhere and maybe, just MAYBE, one of the reasons for Trump's victory is because such organizations have long since overstepped their boundaries and have been blatantly biased as opposed to egalitarian. Just a theory. :) :P

As I said, no it can't. It would take about a thousand strokes of a pen, and by committees and courts and everything else. And there's no chance any of the rights-oriented groups and organizations we have (WAY too many of them, by the way), are going anywhere. Nor does Trump WANT them to go anywhere; he's never said anything about oppressing people for who they are, only enforcing laws based on what they do or don't do. Which is perfectly logical.
