What makes you say yes? Researchers try to find the answer of this question for years. And of course there is a scientific explanation of this question. Here are some things that effects your decision.

Make them like you by showing things you have in common

We all know that we tend to say yes to the people that we like. But what makes us like someone? Similarity is the main thing that makes you like someone. Studies show that telling about the things in common and complementing to the other side increase our chance of persuating.

Show how knowledgeable you are

In addition to this, we believe trustworthy people more than others. So, it is important to show your knowledge, success and skills while trying to persuade others.

Give them some examples

Another way is to show others as an example. Because people tend to do what others are doing.

Do a favor

The last way is so easy. Just do a favor. Because people will feel depted. And that will increase the possibility of saying yes.

But wait... Nothing here about using insults or being condescending (calling your opponent (s) derogatory names, using words like stupid or dumbass etc), nor about doing a celebration dance after each of your points ("Boom!" or "I just blew your f-ing MIND!" etc.)? Also nothing about using obnoxious/insulting/condescending gifs to spice up your argument? Not even anything about asserting dominance/superiority over the other side to help your case? Doesn't even encourage the use of logical fallacies.

Sure doesn't sound like how people here on GaG try to convince others.
