I think on average the two correlate but of course not always. I just experienced lack of maturity in a friend I used to respect. Turns out he was extremely immature, and not to mention a dick.

i grew up in the late 40's, early 50's, it never came up until the 1970's. you had a child, you fed it, we thought nothing of it

i have seen people half my age and act more mature than me and people one an half my age act like spoiled brat.
