There is no rape culture in America... The myth of it comes from a victimization culture from the left who create themselves an identity and a status out of being a victim and part of a minority... The truth is we don't celebrate rape we put rapists in jail... If you can point to an ACTUAL case of rape, then i'm ready to fight next to you... But if you want to use vague terms which are not observable, but are just ideas and claims thrown around, then that doesn't work, because we're chasing a ghost...
@CactusJuice Well you're the one who has to prove some 'rape culture' and like I said, rape is terrible, If it were up to me all rapist would be castrated, but you have to show me a concrete instance of rape, otherwise I can't do anything about it and the only thing it does is make you feel better about being a victim
As a victim of sexual assault I must thank you for furthering the narrative of bullshit rape culture and false stats so that the real issues are largely ignored in favour of seeing women as victims of a society of horrible men.
Let’s all have a good cry for women because they are inevitably victims that need special attention.
Meanwhile people’s lives will continue to be devastated whitest people argue over idiotic theories; like we live in a rape culture, men need classes on how not to rape, and that women are too week and incapable of being responsible for her own actions, drunk or not.
Thanks for contributing to the problem in an effort to garner pitty for the unbearable existence women face. Here’s your pitty.
Can we address the actual problems now or do women need more pitty first?
@fanggirl5 A lot of girls sexually pressure guys to trap them and then randomly accuse them of sex crimes cause they are taught this is totally virtuous and good behavior and they wanna be in the victim's club. It happens far too often. They go after one guy, they go after lots of guys
@troychapman Well I didn't consider it 'rape' or even aggression though she did try to force me into sex. We didn't have sex but she tried to force herself onto me. I was only really violated when she started this big drama the next day with the police and with the hospital claiming that she thought someone 'spiked her drink.' What saved me was all the witnesses and the fact that the Southwest Los Angeles police department gets SO MANY women making these stories up they don't really believe most of them and know when they are lying.
The girls that have downvoted this are just REALLY dedicated to being in a victim mindset and think, "this guy's totally wrong, there is no bigger problem than rape", because they've never lived in a country where they'd be treated literally as lesser beings, without being able to drive, wear clothes they want, walk around in public without a man accompanying them, marry whoever they want, get on the internet... the list goes on and on of real injustices that women face today in other countries, and there are even more injustices that the human race as a whole face, but no, we in the US are such good little victims with our 24/7 internet access, expensive phones, and matter of choice in almost every situation including whether or not to bang that guy while we're drunk.
@troychapman Yes I;m fine. It was beginning of this year. Physically grabbing me and pestering me into kissing her. Like she wouldn't calm down, relax and socialize like the others. It was al about her and she kept saying "let's have a threesome! Yes! Yes!" like that in my ear. She was, like, unaware of anyone else she just kept telling people what to do and demanded sex from me. Later she said "I think you spiked me!" and even slept without pants and suggested that I took her pants off. The witnesses saw all of this shit she was doing so I didn't get in trouble. But I'm sure she was trying join the club that is being made a cool thing right now
How come if a woman gets drunk and throws herself at you the man is considered sex offender and can be charged for rape the very next morning if she regrets it? Not only this is a double standard since theoretically she should be charged for rape as well assuming that both parties were under the influence of alcohol, but also because it completely avoids placing any semblance of adult responsibility upon women at all. That is bullshit. If a woman or any person for that matter chooses to drink, then they are accountable for every decision they make under the influence of alcohol including consenting to sex. The rest of society does not have any sort of duty or obligation to second guess your adult decisions. Granted, it would be different if a person was drugged or given alcohol without their knowledge, but when a person chooses to drink, I believe that they are accountable for their own actions.
Rape culture isn't a thing in America, rape is not normalized and is still demonized rightfully so, rapist usually get thrown in jail when evidence is provided. Nobody is giving them a rapist of the year award for taking advantage of someone so this whole idea that people think men are okay with rape is lie. Society or parents aren't teaching kids that rape is okay either, nobody is doing that it's just that one sick individual who think they can get away with anything and not pay for their consequences. Women are so protected when it comes to rape that men are practically walking eggshells just not get the raped whistle blown on them. So no, nobody is okay with rape, rape culture isn't real in America and we just need to stop with the BS.

There is no rape culture in the US. There are rapists... always have been and always will be. But 99.9% of people in the US are passionately against rape and would tear a rapist limb from limb if they caught them in the act. That is NOT rape culture. Claiming in is is just typical feminist dishonesty.
Speaking of feminist dishonesty, claiming 1 in 5 women have experienced rape or attempted rape is absolutely absurd and any rational person knows it. The ACTUAL US Justice Department statistics show the rate is less than 1 in 200. And yet feminists continue to push these bullshit statistics that no one but the most naive little girls believe. Is it any wonder why feminism is so maligned today? Is there any question why no one respects the movement anymore?
You're young and naive so I'll cut you some slack, but if you still buy into this feminist bullshit by the time you're 21, you a straight up idiot.

"... only 10% of proven rapist are actually jailed"
OP, please provide your source for this ^^^ bullshit. You won't because it doesn't exist. It's a lie. Just another feminist lie.
Why do you feminists insist on lying about rape? Can you answer that for all of us? Why is it that you feel the need to lie about it? If you think lying is somehow helping your cause, you're wrong. It just makes you look bad and undermines any little bit of remaining credibility you might have.
Goodtake. We also need to get the legal system to start enforcing rape laws in cases where women rape men and to same standard. So many men are raped by women at college that are unaware that it happened. In my case after I explained what happened during a night of drinking at a house party my girlfriend accused me of cheating and dumped, the police and college told me to stop wasting their time and college feminists harassed me until I had to leave for another college. So many men are raped when they are unable to consent to sex and most don't know they were raped. Men need to be taught at college how to avoid being in situations that might result in a false rape claim. For instance if you see a passed out chick don't get involved just walk on.
I entered the post hoping to find healthy discussion trying to at least weight in the case made by OP. I'm apalled with what I've seen in the comments section. While sure, everyone is entitled to their opinion I wish and hoped to have found at least an ounce of empathy. I found empty denials without substance to justify them, victim blaming galore, and a whole lot of what the OP calls out and points "HEY, this is rape culture!". I can only say I'm sorry OP that your well balanced and well fleshed out text got swamped in narrowmindedness. Even the up and downvote distribution is depressing...
you serious? You call 'men stop sexualising us (which includes attraction' 'all men can't say no' 'if one dodgy person lets off a rapist then the whole of society is to blame' is anything but 'balanced'
plenty of innocent people accused of rape have been blamed as well
@davidshaw I'm most definitely not kidding. I live in a country with something around 15+ rapes A DAY, I continually see men catcall on girls on the streets with the most vulgar intentions, I more often than not have to callout my male friends after they say some nasty stuff about what they'd to some random girl passing by, and even got excluded from some circles for caring about this kind of shit. without mentioning the whole absurd of thinking that any girl who's alone at a pub or a bar is "fair game to fuck" as I've heard sometimes - to the point of, as the bar owner, having to bodily separate a dude from a girl saying no -, there's plenty of entitlement men take when it comes to what's acceptable to do to a girl. weird that when a guy does the same to them, they freak out as such behaviour was unacceptable...
If you were never told that “no means no” how is it that we all recognize the phrase?
Additionally the idea that if someone says no at any point it’s rape is absurd. Consent can be withdrawn -or given- at any time. Someone who says yes, yes, yes, no: the initiator must stop at that no. And similarly if someone says no, no, no, yes they are consenting. People can change their mind in either direction.
Going along with persistence is not rape. Being threatened or forced is rape. Being taken when unable to indicate consent or non consent (ie when passed out) is rape.
there isn't any rape culture in Western countries - especially not the US/Canada where even a rape ACCUSATION is taken so seriously that it can ruin the accused persons life despite that fact they may be innocent. This isn't denying that rape isn't a problem or that victim blaming doesn't ever occur or that there are times where rapists aren't convicted but according to your definition of "rape culture" where rape is "pervasive and normalized" is simply not true in Western countries.
The victim blaming is part of it so if you admit that happens than you have admitted to a rape culture where woman are constantly blamed and scrutinised for what happens to them more than the actions of the rapist. If someone's first reaction was 'what was she doing alone!' rather than 'what a sick f**k for raping someone' that equals rape culture
@fanggirl5 nope, that's you misconstruing what I said. I didn't admit to anything, don't use fallacious reasoning on me. Just because victim blaming happens sometimes doesn't mean we live in a fuckin rape culture. Likewise do we live in a murder culture? or a property damage culture? How do you know that's someone's first reaction? Take a look at all the articles and news regarding people accused of rape like James Deen back in 2015 for example and see how much hate they get with comments labeling them as a rapist simply on the basis of someone crying rape. If you wanna see a rape culture, literally visit any third world shit hole of a country.
OMG I eye roll so hard whenever anyone mentions a Third World country. 'women in other countries have it worse so you have no right to say anything'. Fuck me the stupidity is astounding. Yes, there country is different to ours, congratulations on passing geography class
@fanggirl5 Again missing the point; I mentioned third world countries because they actually have what's the closest thing perceived to be "rape culture" so you can see the great extent in contrast between countries like India where acid attacks are commonplace and martial rape is legal and western countries where women are treated as equal citizens. What is your evidence for a rape culture here anyways? that "woman are constantly blamed and scrutinised for what happens to them more than the actions of the rapist" - do you have any evidence to substantiate such an outlandish claim?
Seriously? Everytime some asks why the woman was drunk, or alone, or wearing, or instantly says she's lying for attention. You use social media yes? Those comments make up a large portion of comments on news regarding rape trials. The sentencing of rapists of 2 years, or sometimes o KY 4 months, is outrageous and happens because it still isn't seen fit the crime it is and often the courts don't want to harm the man's future! What more evidence do you need? Where is your eveidnce for it doesn't exist? Because we don't have acid attacks? Well then, just because someone else has it worse we shouldn't fix our inequalities?
@fanggirl5 No I don't have social media. If you're going to claim something exists - the burden on proof lies on you. If you claim a rape culture exists, you need to substantiate it with sources so all that bullshit you just said below, you need to back up. You ranting and whining isn't enough unfortunately. what inequalities do we have exactly? What rights do western women not have?
Typical feminist bullshit. She complains about a fantasy rape culture while at the same time supporting and promoting the import of an actual rape culture into the western world. That is muslims who look at women as a piece of property.
Dress Code: When you dress like a slut you will be treated like a slut as well. Got it public vagina? Do not complain about the dream prince you can't find and how no one accepts you for what you are. And don't complain about men objectifying women because you want this, you like this and you need to be objectified. You can't live without it.
One no means "Yes baby fuck me! Im playing hard to get!" Two no's mean "Im not sure Im in the right mood." Three no's mean no.
America isn't a rape culture. A rape culture is a society that promotes and accepts rape. America does not fall under that category. You want to see rape culture? Go to countries where women can't even leave their houses without being raped or they're raped as a punishment or punished for being a victim of rape and the law won't even get involved. I'm not talking about a few cases they weren't properly dealt with, I'm talking about case after case. Hundreds of thousands of cases.
You females in the Western world don't understand how good you have it. Last time I checked NOBODY teaches their sons to rape. What's so wrong about teaching preventive action? We teach our children how to avoid getting kidnapped or how to avoid having your house burglarized but it's wrong to teach women how to not be raped? Are you kidding me? It's wrong that an adult woman has to be responsible for her own safety?
A man who treats a woman like a queen is proof that he was raised by one”. This is a popular saying comes in my mind.
Don’t diminish the line between humanity and bestiality and make the human civilization ashamed of your existence. No means- No and you should stop then and there giving the right to body to the opposite sex.
Rape culture in America doesn't exist, so your whole premise is wrong. The criminals and psychopaths that you're targeting here usually act alone. Rapists can't be reeducated and they have no morals or any fear of the law. That's why this My Take accomplishes nothing, except to point an accusing finger at the majority of guys who'd never think of doing such a thing.
Total bullshit. If your stats were remotely true the actual numbers would reflect it. They don't. Quit believing his tripe and go live your life. All men are not rapist.
Another female that has been brainwashed by the lies of feminists. There is no rape culture in the West. In Islamic countries yes, but not in the West. In the West we don't celebrate rape, we put rapists in jail. The overwhelming majority of people in the West hate the crime of rape. Your statistics are also bogus.
Also, men will always see women as sex objects. Heterosexual men are hard wired to have a strong desire for sex and are very visual. If women walk around in revealing clothing, sometimes acting slutty, men are going to see her in a sexual way. How can any woman with any intelligence walk around in revealing clothing and expect men to not see them in a sexual way. This is the insanity of modern day feminism, a cancer that needs to be wiped out.
"- 1 in 5 women have experienced rape or attempted rape - 1 in 6 males have been abused before turning 18 - 97% of rapist have never spent a single day in jail - in 31 states rapist can legally sue for custody"
there is no rape culture.. rape is illegal. everybody hates rapists. Nobody is protesting "pro rape" the movement is fucking retarded..

first of all, people who rape are sick, sick creatures who won't stop rape by getting told not to rape. Second of all, girls should dress properly to protect themselves! like you know damn well there are rapists out there and you can't stop them from raping but at least protect yourself a bit at a club at 4 am. on the weekend. I'm just saying that getting told to ''dress properly'' isn't to fuck you up and give you the blame for getting sexually assaulted but to protect you from hungry eyes.
So all the woman raped that had jeans and jumpers on? Or track pants? Or work clothes? Nice victim blaming. Clothes actually have no part in it. Rapists are preditators and like all preditators look for weak targets. Wearing a dress does not make you a weak target. They go after their friends because your guard is down and you will often be alone with them, or someone on their phone because they are not paying attention. But never what you're wearing
Stuff like this makes me sick. Over using the term rape just makes people roll their eyes at all accusations of rape. If everyting is rape, nothing ia rape. Stop cheapening the issue.
I think you grotesquely minimize the effects of rape on a person. Rape is an unconscionable act of violence. Not, it may not kill you, but you may suffer the after-effects of trauma.
You have never experienced hunger right? Real hunger. It's like a slowly corrosion of your humanity. You watch as your pride goes away. Then your honor. Your dignity. Your humanity. Slowly withers. Until one day you become a simple animal. Willing to do whatever that will get you your next meal.
Rape? As long as there is food, who cares? You can even eat the flesh of another human being.
Now here is the kicker: calculate on how long it would take to break someone humanity. How many days or months before someone wouldn't careless about the life other another human being and just kill as long as he can get food?
First of all, you know nothing about my life, so do not presume what I have and haven't suffered.
And since you think things like clean water and access to medication are important, perhaps you can tell you what activism you're involved in to help with these problems? Are you boycotting Nestle? Are you lobbying your representatives in government?
See, it's actually possible for someone like me to be an anti-rape activist AND work to protect people's basic human right to a ready and free source of clean water. I'm actually involved in direct action in some way for all the issues you describe.
The threat of sexual assault, and/or actual assault is something that effects the lives of almost all women on Earth, and some men. It's one of the worst things that can happen to a person. All your minimizing aside.
Does it matter if I have done any activism or not? What if I don't. Are you going to use ad hominem arguments?
I don't have to know what you suffered or not but I am pretty sure what you didn't go through.
You believe that rape is something enormous. It's because you don't really have any other actual problems and danger you have to face. I am saying it's the 1st world problem. Because this has been around since human started to raid for brides.
Why do you think there were camp followers? Why do you think prostitution increased rapidly during times of shortages? What do you think about the idea of killing any girl above 13 and any boy above 10 when people raided villages?
Activism is not the right to be unreasonable. It's also not the requirement to say the right thing.
But when you come into a post that is about rape and start telling us there's all sorts of other things we should be more concerned about, I expect you to be able to back your play. But since you can't or won't, I can only assume you were just here to derail the discussion.
There are other things and I gave you the reason. The so called rape problem is merely a 1st country problem because people don't have other things to worry about. Sure it happens everywhere but it's not that big of a problem.
You are asking irrelevant stuff because you can't make a case to make rape seems like something that need resources to fix. Recourses that could be used for more useful stuff.
You know what, it's a HUGE problem for women, and a fair number of men, in places all over the world, where being raped or abused can ruin your life, maybe even get you killed. Even in Western countries, a lot of sex crimes end in grave bodily injury or death to the victim.
And, YOU don't get to decide what women the world over are supposed to find important. Not being abused is important to all of us, even as we fight for other things.
It's not a zero sum game where being an anti-rape activist precludes you from being an anti-world-hunger activist. Your logic is faulty for one, and your perceptions of how sexual abuse mangles lives is very low.
So, keep on with your lo-ball asschatter. I have a party to get ready for. Lates.
Right... Making a problem out of minor crime and use ad hominem. Fantastic logic for someone who doesn't have a clue what women in various nations actually want.
It's a mental problem at best. Doesn't stop people from being functional. Only princesses like you who jump up at a bit of blood get all hysteric over it.

@fanggirl5 The sentencing for Rape here in Ireland is 2 years up to 25 years depending on the conduct and victims age
Im playing hard to get!"
Two no's mean "Im not sure Im in the right mood."
Three no's mean no.
Nice Take !!!
I appreciate.
A man who treats a woman like a queen is proof that he was raised by one”. This is a popular saying comes in my mind.
Don’t diminish the line between humanity and bestiality and make the human civilization ashamed of your existence. No means- No and you should stop then and there giving the right to body to the opposite sex.
Thanks for sharing !!!
All men are not rapist.
lol never said all men were rapists
If 1 in 5 women are raped then that means you're pretty much implying all men are rapists.
@HeAintMe not at all. Something like 2% of men are but those men might have 10 lifetime victims each.
"- 1 in 5 women have experienced rape or attempted rape
- 1 in 6 males have been abused before turning 18
- 97% of rapist have never spent a single day in jail
- in 31 states rapist can legally sue for custody"
Where did you get these stats?
there is no rape culture.. rape is illegal. everybody hates rapists.
You know there ought to be this cool drug you stick it to people and remove their emotions. They wouldn't be raping then.
Of course, they wouldn't care to much to cut people into little pieces and turn the pieces into animal feed.
I don't really care much about this 1st world problem though. Expensive to take care off while other people are getting butchered.
Rape is a problem the world over. Especially when used as an act of torture in war.
@MlleCake
So is lack of clean water. Access to medication. Access to food, shelter and sanitation.
I think rape is the last thing you really should care about when everything else that immediately threaten the survival is still active.
I think you grotesquely minimize the effects of rape on a person. Rape is an unconscionable act of violence. Not, it may not kill you, but you may suffer the after-effects of trauma.
@MlleCake
@MlleCake
Ok, well assume what you want.
But when you come into a post that is about rape and start telling us there's all sorts of other things we should be more concerned about, I expect you to be able to back your play. But since you can't or won't, I can only assume you were just here to derail the discussion.
@MlleCake
Lates.
@MlleCake
Right... Making a problem out of minor crime and use ad hominem. Fantastic logic for someone who doesn't have a clue what women in various nations actually want.
It's a mental problem at best. Doesn't stop people from being functional. Only princesses like you who jump up at a bit of blood get all hysteric over it.
