How Being Very Short Can Ruin Your Life...

(i'm talking about 5'5''-and-below short, not 5'8'' short)

1. Your stature "stands out" before anything else does, and there's nothing you can do about it.

People don't respect you and there's nothing you can do to overcome the initial impression of your stature. Many jobs have height requirements and those that don't officially still might in practice.

2. This is reinforced by the scientific "racism" against short men that has started to be implemented.

I myself was refused a scholarship over my height. A study was quoted as a motive which claims short people are less intelligent and more likely to commit violent crimes. The fact that shorter men are paid less is seen as a confirmation of this rather than an injustice.

3. Any emotion, opinion, wish or accomplishment that gets noticed will always be ascribed to your stature and alleged short man syndrome.

Nothing you might do will ever redeem you of it. You were cursed with no fault of your own. Are you happy or confident? You're trying to compensate and should be punished for it. Are you angry an sad? Look at that little butthurt shrimp! Let's punch him in the face and kick him while he's down just to see how cute he is when he tries to rebel. The same goes not only for your mood and general behavior but also for political opinions and anything you might do, professionally or as hobby.

4. People mistreat you even to the point of physical abuse.

Women despise you to the point of seeing you as their sworn enemy for some reason and taller men will pick fights with you to exercise dominance, which you will have to lose because...

5. You're always wrong because you have short man syndrome.

Do you dare fight back? You're a butthurt shrimp who needs to fight because he's insecure about his masculinity. Your only option is to sit back and endure, which will be seen as evidence of how cowardly and unmanly short men are.

6. It's perfectly politically correct to assert you have all kinds of bad qualities due to your height, including low intelligence.

The mainstream media and even the very people who adamantly fight racial and gender discrimination come up with articles like this: http://theconversation.com/the-long-and-the-short-of-it-eight-reasons-why-short-men-come-up-short-56008

Of course, saying the same about a particular gender or ethnicity wouldn't be acceptable outside strictly academic environments and media. I read an article by another woeful and despicable short man about a public figure who had talked smack about short men for a long time but only sparked public outrage and boycott with relatively innocent comment about the stature of a woman. He inferred from that episode that short men will never receive recognition about the injustices they face. (can't find the link)

7. Women believe fighting for short men's rights is somehow anti-feminist..

Women gloat over the plights of short men as if they were their enemies. I guess the reason why the problems affecting short men can't be addressed politically is that half of the population lobbies against it because it finds you repulsive and just has to mingle sexual preferences with politics. While of course you can perfectly tolerate a campaign against discrimination against short men while still not finding them attractive and refuse to interact with them outside professional needs. We're not trying force you to like us in any way, we're just trying to attain some human dignity and reduce discrimination against us in the workforce and social environments, but NOT in friendship or dating.

8. The gender wage gap is an issue even though the height pay gap isn't.

Fun fact: even considering that the average income of a woman of a certain height is higher than that of a man of the same height, whether you take variables into account or not (even the 1.67 cents per dollar, as well as the 1.92 cents per dollar pay gap, switches in favor of women if height is also taken into consideration as the only (in the case of 1.67 cents per dollar) or one of the many (1.92 cents per dollar) variables.

9. The irony is that the same society, or even people, who shame you for being short will also tell you that discrimination against short men is not a thing.
