Rain should not be an excuse to honor the fallen

Every single media outlet with exception, has made this statement.

Trump cancels WW1 memorial at U.S. cemetery in France due to rain..

"President Donald Trump could not attend a commemoration in France for U.S. soldiers and marines killed during World War One on Saturday because rain made it impossible to arrange transport, the White House said."

The president was scheduled to pay tribute at a ceremony at the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in Belleau, about 85 km (50 miles) east of Paris, with his wife Melania. But light steady rain and a low cloud ceiling prevented his helicopter from traveling to the site.

Now this supposedly is an hour drive, and Chief of Staff John Kelly went instead.

Rain should not be an excuse to honor the fallen

White House officials said the decision was taken due to the weather and cited security concerns in hastily arranging a motorcade. Similar concerns prevented Trump from reaching the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea a year ago when foggy weather prevented his helicopter from landing. (as per Sara Sanders)

OO-RAH!
OO-RAH!

Now for those who side with this. If the Chief of Staff John Kelly can be in a "hastily arranged motorcade"

In 1970, when his mother told him that his draft number was coming up, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps He served in an infantry company with the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and was discharged to the inactive reserve as a sergeant in 1972 so that he could attend college. He returned to active duty with the Marines in 1975, completed Officer Candidates School, and was commissioned as a second lieutenant on December 27, 1975 In 1976, he graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston and in 1984, he received a Master of Arts degree in National Security Affairs from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.[ In 1995, Kelly graduated from the National Defense University in Washington, DC with a Master of Science in Strategic Studies.

Now if the Men and Women of this county can serve their country, and sacrifice their lives, every other world leader with exception (and mind you every other predecessor had done this). I dont give a damn if your liked or not, you were chosen by the people, you are to represent them, you insulted the dead men as well as the their families, but also the veterans of the war.

my great grand father was in world war 2, he lost a brother and an uncle, he never went to a parade anywhere, but up to when he died those and his comrade's were in his thoughts a lot of the time did he disrespect them by not going to a parade, no he honoured them in his thoughts for years

Thanks for giving your life to your country, but trump dosen’t want a little rain to mildly inconvenience him.

  • Drumpf has a long, sad history of disregard and disrespect for military personnel, except when it suits him... and that's usually on camera. He's a 5-time draft dodger who compares his sexual indiscretions to surviving the Vietnam War. You're not really surprised by this most recent turn of events, are you?
