So I'm writing this mytake not just because I want to see your opinions, but because I'm staying up late Tonight to study for my math exam and you guys and gals notifications will keep me up (please wish me luck also). Now let's get to business
So today while getting a ride to work me and my mom got into an argument about the courts ruling today on male only draft
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/02/25/politics/male-only-draft-unconstitutional/index.html
Me Being a far left kinda guy was kinda happy with the ruling (obviously it has a long way to go), I say kinda because I think we shouldn't have a draft but whatever. So my mom was mad at me and starting talking about she doesn't know what kind of man I am and that I sound like quote, "an old wife beater" for thinking women should be forced to go to the draft if men are ๐. She started yelling about how I have sisters and nieces and I should be ashamed of myself but I think she forgets that she has sons, grandsons, and nephews ๐
She went further and started saying that women can't serve because they can't fight like a man......๐
Ignoring the obvious gender issue I think this is just a small part of a bigger issue, the generational gap
She's older and thinks that I'm quote, "against my country" because I point out the obvious problems our generation is up against and she thinks that ocasio cortez and other justice democrats are, "stupid" and "against our County".
Clearly the older generation is partly responsible for our country being stuck in the past. They think the status quo is great when wages have been stagnant since the 80s. Let me put this into perspective for all the right wing dumbasses who will plague the comment section, I AM NOT A LAZY MILLENIAL WANTING A HANDOUT. I HAVE TWO JOBS AND I'M A FULL TIME STUDENT. LET ME REPEAT THIS!
I-HAVE-TWO-JOBS!!!!!!! And I find it highly absurd that I can work my ass off and still be poor while millionares like jeff bezos get to wipe their ass with dollar bills
And obviously they don't understand that it's just gonna keep getting worse if something doesn't change soon
So what do you all think? Is the generational gap holding us back? What are your thoughts on the whole draft thing? Am I a lazy millennial? Sound of below
Thanks for reading ๐๐
