What You Can Do For Global Warming!

1. STOP LITTERING

This should seem extremely obvious cause like duh less littering = cleaner planet but not everyone realizes just how much litter affects our planet.

So much litter!

2. CUT BACK ON RED MEATS/PROCESSED FOODS

Many horrible chemicals are released into the air during the production of red meat and processed foods. Obviously, I can't force you to stop all-together, but cutting back on these foods is great for the environment

So tasty! But so bad :(

3. VOTE!!!

If you are old enough to vote, then vote for political leaders who actually care about climate change! People in power, like presidents, can do a lot more for our environment than we can by putting acts and laws into place.

4. BE ENERGY FRIENDLY

This one we have been hearing since we were children: turn off the lights when not in the room, turn off the TV when not using, walk instead of using a car when you can, etc.

5. REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!!!!

This one is SO important! It is so easy to do too!

- Donate old clothes or pass them on to someone else you know

- Recycle all cans, bottles, paper, etc. that you can

- USE A RECYCLEABLE WATER BOTTLE

- Order smaller portions of food when you can, or take the rest home to finish later

- Use leftover fruits and such for compost in a garden!

In conclusion, the environment really needs are help. Scientists predict that if we don't dramatically change what we are doing, we are headed straight for all out chaos on Earth. Sea levels will rise, weather will become extreme, various storms will get much worse, the ice caps will continue to melt, etc. People often talk about how there is nothing they can do, BUT THERE IS! Use and share my list of ways to help the environment to help save the planet!

I recycle, I always take my reusable bags for my groceries, I drive a hybrid so I’m just on electric mode, I try eating meat only twice a week, I always carry my reusable cup and straw with me, and recently I made my own beeswax food wraps to stop using plastic. I also reuse my clothes on creative projects instead of throwing it away.

Plant more trees and greenery? Motivate government to inspire habitats for bees and other wildlife in backyards. Its so stupid we have fields of green grass which is useless, requires chemicals that are wiping them out. let it go to clover and plant flowering plants, etc.. inspire chemical free lawns... that make huge difference. join autobon society,

wear your clothes until they are worn out. some of the problem is our economic design... that is... we built a consumer throw away society with low quality junk. USA is built out of low quality chinese made junk... by design. The issue there being govt is out of control with spending and must inflate, they do that by printing $ to keep the charade going. To do that, must have high turnover of $, which means stuff is disposed of. All this creates jobs. But it creates tons of waste and excess energy consumed.

that's a big enchilada to change and solve without war and depressions and collapses and poverty. people don't like those things, but that's the high level issue. I'll stop there...

Litter Is pollution not global warming

I'm not gonna stop eating meat. Yes animals produce more CO2 then cars but the solution isn't more people eating less tasty food. The solution is less people on this damn sun orbiting rock.

I do use clothes second hand from family members when uts in good condition. I had a cojsing who had a growth spurt and had basically brand new clothes so ofcourse I use it.

Compost: most people who can do do it.

Recyclable water bottles. Sure. Or we could use glass bottles which last forever and degrade into sand.

And for the idiots who believe in elctric card being the future. They aren't. Most of the electricity used in them is produced by... You guessed it... Burning coal and petrol

Walking. Not everyone loves in a city. I live in the middle of nowhere and trains run here about twice a day. And never where I want them. I do cycle if I can

You can stop buying into the scam that people cause "global warming" or what ever other foolishness they're calling it now. The idea here is to create a "carbon tax". A way for governments to tax carbon emissions. In the stone age, you could point to a volcano or some other natural phenomenon that people were afraid of and make up some story or other about it being an angry god that is causing said phenomenon to do what it does and you could get a lot of social power out of that even thought you knew little or nothing about it. It's the same today except people know too much about volcanoes and hurricanes so you go to something people know much less about like the slow changing of the climate. Same scam, same greedy people different era. Stop trusting what politicians say to you.

Well over 90% of greenhouse gas emissions are necessary and virtually unavoidable, because we need all the fossil fuel powered industry, heating, transportation, electricity and so on.

As for "red meat", meat production in total actually represents only 40% of agricultural emissions (which in turn represent only about 10% of all greenhouse gases), the rest is the result of the agricultural fields themselves (and rice fields in particular, which are a major contributor).

Even that small fraction can be super helpful though. I subtly pointed out a few times that we can't do too much to help, but there are small things that can change a lot. And thank you for the statistics those are very interesting :)

If you want to feel like you are making a difference, not using cars, buses and other road vehicles is by far the most efficient option.

Road emissions account for the single biggest contributor that the average person has the direct control over.
This is also the sector that is the hardest to fix, because we need cars and there are no real alternatives.

Anyhoo, #1 isn't related to climate change. Putting your trash in one place as opposed to another doesn't make anything better - it's still trash.

#2 is a bit of a red herring, too. More influenced by the anti-meat/vegan crowd than environmental science.

#3 voting people into office who don't think climate change is a hoax (i. e., they are scientifically literate) would be a massive change in the right direction.

#4 this is on the right track, but using less energy is only helpful due to the fact that in most places (in the U. S. at least), generating energy harms the environment. A better approach would be to use as much energy as we want, from renewable/clean/green sources.

Thank you for the notes! I am actually not vegan at all! I just cut back a lot on red meat since the food that cows eat/ something with like digestion process or whatever (sorry im not an expert i dont know all the facts) produces lots of methane that hurt the ozone layer :) And thank you so much for agreeing with my other points (or at least kind of agreeing) have an amazing day!

Sorry, but people in the west recycling and eating veggies isn´t going to change anything. Build nuclear power plants to replace oil and coal, and especially China and India needs to do this. As for going vegetarian, it is only environmental friendly if the food is produced locally. A lot of soy is produced in South America.
