Persona Non Grata is a common diplomatic term only issued in rare extreme cases. It can apply to a leader or the whole of the government.

The PODUS basically expelled Britain’s ambassador to the United States over some unfavorable memos.

Obama wasn’t loved by Europe a first and had similar reports leaked back.

You dont PNG a diplomat from your state’s closest ally in a whim, unless your Trump.

Ambassadors are usually As I mentioned in your other question, ambassadors are bureaucrats. They aren't elected but rather positioned due to their skills. Which means foriegn diplomats are one of the most intelligent people. It's no secret that Trump is an embodiment of stupidity. And for a diplomat to be in such a place and having to smile and act like he is the god is preposterous. However, I am sure that political pressure might have had him give moderate comments on Trump. This obviously is not sufficient for Trump, as his campaign often relies on being hailed in other countries. Hence he took it on Twitter to lash out on British ambassadors.

If Trump has officially given the ambassador Persona Non Grata, that is one of the highest form of disrespect towards UK.

It's a serious diplomatic spat occurring at a time during which UK cannot afford any diplomatic spats.

And UK officials such as May, Corbin and Thornberry backing the ambassador casts a really bad light on the UK government as a whole.
UK seriously needs to get off its high horse, because at this rate, there will be nobody in the world left who will be open to dealing with them after Brexit.

He didn't expel anyone. The ambassador was saying shit and got busted. Sure, people in politics talk shit behind people's back all the time. But when they get busted, there is a price to pay. It cost his job. That's the way it works. It's happened thousands of times throughout the world and will continue to happen. Pick a new ambassador and move on.

Worse memos were leaked about Obama during his first 2 years. It was a rocky road for him with Britain. I remember being upset with him myself for his handling of the Special Relationship.

He didn’t take to the relationship in the way that he should have, I do t think he understood it for like 12-18 months, that it wasn’t pomp and show. That from an intelligence standpoint and everything else, the two countries need each other and the state show is part of that with the Queen. But he and Harry are good friends now.

But yeah, diplomats for the U. K. wrote back to home very unfavorable outlook for Obama’s ability to govern and these were leaked. He took it like a big boy, a confident person. Ground to make up and what not, an admin still learning.

What kind of a fucking move would it have been for him to PNG UK’s Ambassador to the US at that moment?

I would have lost my shit as would have everyone on both sides of the aisle and Britain. But this guy is a CHUMP, well put.
