No. More. Politics

2020....no. The last 5 years have made me feel many things. Rage, Confusion, Bitterness, Sorrow and most of all...Hatred. Hatred that I never thought I had. Not at groups of people or companies but as society as a whole and what we have come to.

I hate that I have to watch everything I say and do, lest someone, somewhere gets offended in some way.

I hate that our media can't seem to help but make every news story as outrage inducing and depressing as humanly possible, sowing fear and dissent all so they can stay afloat.

I hate that people can't seem to help but shove their political views into everything from books to movies to games and various shows on netflix.

I hate how our political system has been reduced to a contest of who you hate less then the other, disregarding anything that could actually be of use to people in need, in favor of making grandiose promises that you will never keep just to get reelected.

I hate those who abuse societal power and public outrage, and bully people emotionally in order to get their way and are only brave when they know that they can just pull out the victim card when things don't go the way they want.

But most of all, I hate that for all the pain, all the anger and sadness that has been fostered by extreme political activists and demagogue politicians and a media who get off on making everyone afraid........it will all amount to nothing in the end. 5 years of hysteria, of bitterness, of chaos and discord....all for nothing.

2020 in particular has made me realized how pointless being invested in politics truly is, and the real movers and shakers, the ones making real change and influence are the business owners, the job creators the ones that create wealth and worth. These are the people who actually make a difference in the world, not armchair politicians who spend all their time on twitter canceling others just to pat themselves on the back.

I am tired and sick of all of it. 2021 is a new beginning and as with all new years people take a oath or a vow most of which they never follow through on. But I intend to make not 1 vow but 2.

My first vow is to keep my distance from all things political that do not directly influence where i live. I have seen just how insane being obsessed with politics makes a person, and i don't want to see that again.

What i have gone through is tiring, I've come to realize that both sides have their flaws and instead of working together they see each other as enemies with the only desire being to destroy their enemies and anybody who dares to get in their way, or people like me who dare to see things from both ends and see the pros and cons of each, yet are met with rage all the same.

This leads me to my second vow, to purge all those who obsess with politics out of my life. If the only things of note about your are your sexuality and your political stance, If you insist on having your pronouns in your bio, if you obsess over being PC or anything of the sort, I will discard you and treat you as if you never existed in the first place.

I refuse to be told I'm the bad guy by people who clutch to their victimhood as if their lives depend on it, but I know engaging with these people will only do more harm then good. So I won't I will leave them to their own devices and like Icarus flying towards to sun, simply let them fall.

Your race, gender, ethnicity and what not matter little to me, if I find that you are overly political, regardless of which side you lean, I will remove you from my life without a second thought. I will not allow myself to be subjected to such toxicity anymore.

And anybody reading this, I implore you going forward that you do the same. The only way to deal with these kinds of people is through complete social isolation, anything else will only hurt you in the end. So please for anybody still in doubt, if you find someone you know is like this, be they friend of family do yourself a favor and let them go...
