The Nature Of Attraction In A Pseudo Post-Natural Society

I see a lot of posts here by (mostly younger) people that indicate that they can't reconcile the fact that physical attractiveness seems to violate their sense of fairness. Why do many people find fat people unattractive? Why do many people find people of certain races unattractive? To most of us, this is easy to understand, no thought required. But unbelievably, many seem completely baffled by this. It does not compute and leaves them completely confused. After all, in the world of rhetoric they are surrounded by and immersed in equality rules and anything that suggests that not all things are equal is a banned concept, the discussion of which is subject to censorship, imprisonment or the death penalty.

Disclaimer... If you are one of the zombies lost in the world of the woke, you may want to stop reading here. The following may violate the boundaries of the psychological fantasy world in which you live.

The concept that a lot of people - especially those born in certain younger generations - don't seem able to grasp is that physical attraction isn't a democratic process, it isn't about social justice, it isn't about fairness, it isn't about political correctness, it isn't about feel-good platitudes and it isn't about virtue signaling. It's about nature. And nature is none of those things. It's objective. Yes, boys and girls, who you are attracted to is an individual ANIMAL INSTINCT not a community consensus. Please don't cry.

By the way I completely understand why many in the younger generations have this misconception. They have been brainwashed in school and by the media into thinking that anything that defies the concept that we are now living in a post natural era where a new age enlightenment has elevated our brains and moral proficiency beyond all of that cave man nature stuff is doltish. They actually believe that if it isn't politically correct, it can't be true. Their brains have been scrambled. They live in a fantasy world.

And don't interpret that as a pass for my generation. We foolishly let it happen to them.

I agree with you but I felt attacked the whole time reading. I'm not gonna say any more than that because obviously you felt attacked too. Although I don't agree with the race thing. One because race doesn't exist. Historically and biologically it is proven. Don't confuse it with ethnicity. Society does play a part in what we are attracted too. In more cultures a unibrows is considered beautiful. If you use the German standard of beauty then those people will be the most attractive in that world but if you use the Chinese standard of beauty those people and people closest to it will be the most attractive on average in that world. What race you are most attracted to is not objective. It is subjective and highly influenced.

Obesity on the other hand is objective, yes. But you can argue even that due to fetishes. This is not to be confused with fat or chubby. At the end of the day you could argue all of it is subjective due to thousands of years of conditioning. Porn has studies proving this very thing. Brain plasticity and such. To say something emotional is objective is tough. Anything coming from the subjective mind makes it hard to call it objective. Subjective mind = subconscious mind. Especially because the subjective mind can be altered. If there really are people upset over fairness than they a simply ignorant. That is the only problem anyone ever has. Faith is the great equalizer and I don't mean religion.

Late at night and I am too tired to think this interesting comment through. But it's worth an upvote, that I can tell. So I'll give it one and try to get back to it if I think of it another time... I agree with much of it. But I think my main point -- that wokeism disdains and denies nature -- is still valid.

We are thinking beings with self-consciousness culture and all sort of things. The first thing we find attractive is a perceived utility. Most things we naturally found beautiful indicate youth and health. As they are signs of good gens and healthy offsprings.

If you have more going on in your life than just get the best possible gens, other features can indicate different unilities hence you can found other things attractive. It is still nature you go for the highest perceived utility, but culture or even your own consciousness can determinate your definition of utility.

I agree that there are people who are literally not good for anything, but not being attracted to certain races is just lack of human input when some was rised by wolves in the jungle like Mowgli.

I know the picture has nothing to do with this but basically what’s happening today is Democrats are doing exactly that. If you feel something is wrong they turn your name to mud and I’m sick of it. Gay marriage and abortion are a prime example of this

You are brave to say this. Many in your generation are to timid to say it but are thinking the same thing you are. The Democratic Party of today is not the same party it was when I was your age. They have thrown in with evil and leftist thugs. Anyone who disagrees with the slightest point they are pushing is intimidated and harassed and sometimes even physically attacked. This isn't the America I grew up in where people were free to express their views without that kind of abuse and intimidation. The Democrats are moving the country towards the proven failed policies of socialism, communism and Marxism. If your generation doesn't push back against it with everything you have you will not remain free. You will be enslaved to an authoritarian government. SPEAK UP! DON'T LET THE DEMOCRATS INTIMIDATE YOU! A lot of people are silently feeling the same way you are! You must SPEAK UP!

Wow, which strange country are you living in? Seriously, I have never in my entire life met anyone who believed that physical attraction is a "democratic process", or that fat people were not unhealthy, or that one could actually receive the "death penalty" for suggesting that not all things are equal. We all know this, it's not anything new or profound. It's obvious.

a lot has to do what is the perceived nature of beauty. It has changed over the years and what popular culture considers good looking today is different than what it was 100 years ago.
People can be motivated to change their appearance to a degree by losing weight or exercising but this is often too difficult for most. You are born with traits, some good and some bad, some will serve you well and some will make your life less than optimal.

Just don’t communicate with them. When people demonstrate an inability to empathise with others because in the exchange of ideas they don’t gain any compensation, it shows they have no interest in anyone else but themselves, selfish people need to be avoided at any cost. They are bad for any society. Empathy allows you to just accept others as being different, without getting upset about it.
