Russian citizens and the war in Ukraine

The war in Ukraine has gained notorious importance, worldwide. Ukranian's has show their self vulnerable and strong, throughout the war. News sources (like CNN, BBC, Reuters, among other) are giving 24/7 coverage in Ukranian territory and nearby countries.

Due to the tension that's building up, RT News is no longer available in the US. Same thing can be said about western medias in Russia.

What's going on exactly in Russia? People over there are truly in favour of the war?

Ukraine for the Ukranian's, Russia for the Russians?

Putin intention of taking over Ukraine should not be a surprise for anyone. He did take Crimea, he took over Donbass and Luhansk. NATO didn't interfere and it isn't doing it now.

Although, Putin achieved his military goals in 2014, can we say the same thing now? Despite Russia's military force; Russia haven't been able to totally defeat and control the Ukranian population. Ukraine has set a robust resistance against Russian military. Ukranians conviction have proved to be stronger than the fear to death.

The war that's going on has left a deep scar that will last for a long time. Should there be hate towards Russians?

What's happening in Russia?

According to Russian medias, and a "trustful source": 58% of Russians support the war in Ukraine. How is that truth? How can the % be trusted?

Does the Russian's even have a voice in this conflict?

📌Russia invading Ukraine is the equivalent of the US invading Canada. Both are countries that share a common history, also they're countries with historical family ties. A Russian has an uncle, an aunt, a cousin in Ukraine; like an American has beloved ones in Canada.

📌I also want to point out the existing parallelism between Vietnam war and Ukraine:

Even though it was in the interest of the US government to free Vietnam from communism; for several Americans, the war didn't made any sense.

The poll you reference was a telephone survey, carried out last week by a group of independent survey research organizations. WaPo obtained the results of the study from a Russian research agency.

They declined to name the Russian firms involved because of the risks they face as Moscow tightens censorship, but said he has partnered previously with the organizations, which he described as “strong, independent survey research firms.”

Accordingly it is "strong and independent". I don't trust that survey because I also live in a dictatorship, and I've lied in "independent surveys" because you don't know who is who. You just don't know.

The key is predictability and those agencies have shown their previous polls were more accurate than not.

I don't doubt that 58% of Russians support the war. The majority of them love Putin, so they think he's right.

Who knows? But I totally suspect the 53% is total pro panda. There are likely a percentage in Russia like the US that are totally ignorant and believe whatever they see in media. Media in Russia is owned by the government much like the media in the US being slanted towards a political party. Who took this survey? The Washington Post? I call BS on that.
