Umm…I just found out Putin writes articles on the web. Maybe I wasn’t looking for it until now. But this article seems to articulate Putin’s reasons for invading Ukraine.

But the title loses me on the first word. “On”. That means what follows exists. It doesn’t. I could write “On the Historical Unity of Canada and the US.” Doesn’t mean we should invade Canada.

The article goes on to teach the history of the Russian language and how that means all who speak it should be some ethno-national state. No, no no. No, no.

That was Hitler’s reason for invading the Sudetenland. I know…Godwin’s Law. But this Ukraine war has horrible ancestors. Believing fellow speakers of your language should be ruled by you…is nuts.

Nonsense. nobody stops to think why none of the other deaths were ever shown to us, any of the bombings going on for years! nobody even cared because they didn't know, and as the truth starts to come out they easily just dismiss it at 'oh well, the russians must have done it, and so the audience will just accept that and go on about their lives with the deaths instilled into their brains as Russias doing. it's so sick.

You can use a little tool where you can filter publications based on their publication date and you'll find that when the war in the Donbass was raging (2014-2016) there were plenty of MAINTSTREAM WESTERN news outlets talking about it. Yes there has been sporadic clashes since 2016 BUT the majority of violations were committed by the separatists up until 24 Feb 2022.

Ukranians were bombing the shit out of these innocent people, there is footage of it, and you simply repeating what the media has reported as "this is what happened" ridiculous. Russian soldiers have been recorded on phone calls asking their wife if they can rape Ukrainian women and in one case the wife said yes, just wear a condom.

This is well documented and undisputed.

Personally I'd rather NATO just get involved, and if Russia decides to use nukes so be it, nuke them back. Let them make the first move though in launching them.

Better we all die than allow what is going on to continue, human kind does not deserve to exist, when they allow genocide and gang rapes of people. At least the suffering would end, once we are all dead... and as you said, it was planned by god, we all die in the end.

NATO wants to stage first-strike nuclear infrastructure as close to Southwestern Russia as they can get. They want to be able to wipe out ~75% of Russia's strategic targets with nuclear-armed hypersonic cruise missiles within 5 minutes.

Ukraine wanted to join NATO because Russia violated the security guarantee they gave them in 1993 (in exchange for nuclear disarmament) with their annexation of Crimea.

off topic, but it was ultimately about slavery.

The confederate states were part of a union with democratic (for the time, at least) mechanisms for change. They didn't like the result of that process and started a war. It was not justified.

Britain bought out their slave owners, which meant a peaceful transition although the debt was finally repaid just a few years ago.
