As far as I am concerned, "woke ideology" is a term used by people that identify as "conservatives" or "right-wingers" when they disagree with certain policies, political philosophies, and/or principles that can be considered "progressive," "liberal," or "left-wing." Otherwise, such people use the term as a synonym for "political correctness," which describes language, policies, or measures that are intended to avoid offense or disadvantage to members of particular groups in society.

If, based on the title of your myTake, you are arguing that such instances are "woke ideology," I disagree. Propaganda, human divisiveness, and the monetization of misinformation are definitely not the result of "wokeness" as defined by the "right." Instead, one can argue that many people are generally prone to confirmation bias, where people are more likely to seek, believe, or accept as fact information that corresponds to their values and ignore or downright reject anything that challenges their view. Confirmation bias has existed since the beginning of human history, not since "wokeness" has become a common political talking point.

However, our culture of the monetization of social media simply caters to the fact that humans are more geared towards confirmation bias, resulting in content creators getting paid for publishing information that caters to people's biases rather than promoting the truth and facts. In turn, this makes it easier for biased people to access such information due to its sheer abundance of it.

While I agree that misinformation, a focus on negative, trivial topics, and the monetization of misinformation is problematic, it is not accurate to refer to it as "woke ideology." Instead, I believe a better title for your article would have been "Confirmation bias and the lack of critical thinking skills nowadays is a cultural race. . . to the bottom, pitting race-against-race and gender-against-gender." Wouldn't you agree?

With that, it also would have been great if part of this article encouraged people to fact check all information that they are given before accepting it as true as well. If not, maybe titling it the most plausible, accurate, and logical thing relevant to the content of your article won't get you the most clicks in this category, ironically making you part of the problem that you are complaining about.

Plenty of platforms exist with the right wing that specialize in spreading false information and always have. Also, their viewers do little, if anything, to fact-check the information.

People are generally content with only hearing what they want to hear rather than the truth, which is the TRUE problem, not wokeness or leftist ideology.
