Suicide hotline made me feel worse, about to give up?

I was already very depressed so I decided to call a suicide hotline, hoping to get some comfort.. You know, that someone actually cares.. The person who answered sounded completely uninterested and downright rude, then they just hung up on me. Why? I dont even know what to think, I just feel worse now and closer to suicide than before I called. Officially no one really cares. Why do I even bother?

I called one once, too, and it fucking sucked. The lady just made me feel bad for calling and kept cutting me off when I was trying to explain why I was upset. My call was under 5 minutes. Her whole point was that she had a lot of calls and other people in more desperate situations than me who deserved more time (I guess everyone's standing on a ledge?). SO, thanks for reaffirming that my problems aren't worthy of a conversation. No, I didn't kill myself but I sliced myself up, and still struggle with wanting to die all of the time. I'm not writing this to be a downer but to actually hopefully make you feel less alone about the goddamn hotline because I think they're the fucking worst. I wonder how many "volunteers" they have that are actually fuckups with DWIs that were sentenced community service or something. I basically spent the call apologizing for calling, and then the cunt couldn't even give me any other numbers to call or ANY kind of resources.

I hope you get better, even if it's out of spite to show all the dickheads you do matter. You're still VERY young, which doesn't mean your feelings don't count or anything, but your life can change drastically several times over before you're even old. Life can be exhausting, people can be assholes, best of luck to you, really. Sounds like you at least got some kind words from people on here so I hope you find someone helpful to talk to <3

I highly recommend going online and looking for a support group near where you live. most of them are free of charge. I also recommend keeping a journal where you can write out your thoughts and stick it in a place that's privet. Going for a long walk or going to the gym always helps me feel better. stay a way from booze as your thoughts will worsen with drinking. try and find a book for people who suffer from depression. if you are a student I recommend going to speak to a teacher you can trust or a school counselor. anything you tell them is kept privet as long as you don't say you are going to hurt someone else. Maybe you need a small dose of a medication to get you through and their is nothing wrong with that. more people need to be on meds then those who are not on medication.

I might be super late on commenting, but I want you to stay strong please. I know life is super hard, but you were born for a reason. You are strong enough to live this life. I've been through some really hard times too and have actually tried doing it to myself before, but it doesn't help at all. It only eliminates your chances of life getting better. Hey man. I have no idea what you are going through rite now. But all I can say is just turn rite around and face what ever it is that is causing you to be depressed and fight it. Just work hard in anything you can. If you are still in school, Work hard. If not... Find a job and work hard there. Do the best you can in anything. Always credit yourself. Go for a run/get fit as well. It really helps.

Don't worry man, your worst enemy is yourself, don't feel sorry for yourself but instead fight your depression. Trust me. You got this man.

When ever your down in the dumps just tell yourself "No, I am going to be a better person and fight this depression. I got this!"

Just be the best you can be bro. Do the best you can in the things you do.

This is why I don't use suicide hotlines. You tell strangers your problems and you are not sure they care about you or are just doing a job while not so secretly judging you.

Listen, I know depression is tough. And I don't know if you ever maybe thought about praying? I know suicide may seem like the only answer maybe, but it's most defiantly not. You're an amazing person, beautifully created by someone who loves you and knows you more then you know yourself!! Believe it or not, I was in the same position. It is awful to think ending your life's the answer to everything, but no matter what, just remember there's always better ways out. Try talking to a friend, praying, reading, talking to a close relative. And in telling you, Jesus anymore is the only answer. And boy, lemme tell ya, everything will seem to he worse before it gets better. But it's worth it, trust me!! But anyways, you're loved and always thought about. Look. There are people who care you just haven't found the right people to confide in. Giving up will not solve anything. Infact you are missing out on so much and it's definitely not worth it. I know you're obviously going through a hard time right how but believe it it will pass and when it does you'll feel better. Try calling back the hotline and maybe you'll get someone else to talk to.
