Turning 18 poems?

My best friend is turning 18 years old. I want to put a poem in her card that talks about turning 18. I want it to be something funny rather than a sweet poem. I'm horrible at writing things like that. Does anyone know any poems?

Credit to TheGraduate from whom I have borrowed some phrases to write my version of their poem. BTW this is based on the UK laws. I wrote it for my friend who is turning 18 in 4 days.

You have turned 18, it’s now a reality

This is the age of fun and legality,

so much to do and so little time

so here is my birthday wish as a twisted lil’ rhyme,

you can be political and run to be elected

MP, councillor or mayor, but if you get rejected

you can vote at the next election or as a juror,

with gaining credit now an option you need to be financially surer,

you can pawn your possessions and have a higher minimum wage

now that you have reached that special age,

that money do you save or do you spend

now that your around one of lifes major bends?

Do you go down to the parlour for a tattoo

or do you get a good 18 certified movie to view?

Then there’s drinking and smoking and gambling to

although I hope that none are really for you,

of course you can’t forget the fireworks either,

or the fact that you can now be a lorry driver,

but beware of legal trouble and that’s not an insult

it’s just that you can now be tried as an adult,

then there’s marriage and buying a house

without mum and dad there to help,

being grown-up and making decisions

whether it’s making a will or joining Christian missions,

whatever you do live it up out of daily routine

because one day you’ll look back and remember when you turned 18.

You can buy porn and rifles, (but I wouldn't if I were you)

Get a credit card and splurge or be all you can be

Now you can enlist! Maybe join the army?

Whatever you do live it up, out of the daily routine

Because one day in the future you'll remember when you turned 18
