Cyberbullying that occurs outside of school, should be punished by the school ! Agree? and what is a good punishment for cyberbullying?

The problems outside the classroom might eventually get into the classroom! So schools should be a lot harder on cyberbullying ! What punishments should they give? Let me know!

How can we stop cyberbullying? And what is a good punishment for it? I have seen around me that it can really destroy people! How would you stand up for a victim of cyberbullying?

Disagree. The school is only responsible for the things that happen at school. They have no control over the things that the kids do outside of school, hence it shouldn't be their responsibility to punish the kids for what they do when they're not at school. It should be the responsibility of the parents to punish the kids who participate in cyberbullying.
Albeit kids can be punished for behaving badly at school by the school itself, ultimately the school's job is to teach children about different subjects. It's not the school's job to teach kids how to behave like decent human beings. That's the parents' job, and the teachers and the employees at school should not be held accountable if the parents don't do THEIR job correctly. They can only do so much, and the rest of the responsibilities lie in the hands of the parents.
Schools can definitely host campaigns against cyberbullying and stuff like that, but again, if it happens outside of school then there's really not much they can do about it. Except maybe contact the parents of the kids involved, if they are aware of the situation.
As a parent, a good punishment for cyberbullying would be to ground your kid and to confiscate any type of technology they can use to cyberbully, like computers and phones.

we obviously can't stop cyber bullying. I don't think we can stop any kind of bullying. Instead of having assemblies telling kids to stop bullying, I think we should just tell kids how to avoid their bully and what to do if someone IS bullying you. It's like telling all the criminals "Stop doing crimes! It's bad! It hurts others!" They're not going to stop. But I do think cyber bullying should be punished at the school. The only problem is a lot go under anonymous users, so it would be hard to determine which kid is the bully

Cyber-bullying is hard to control because it cloaked in a mask of anonymity. i think cyber-bullying outside of school should be handled by the law and police, like all things that take place outside of school should be.
The punishment should be a couple months in juvenile assuming the bully is under 17. If the bully is 17+ they should be put in jail for a couple of months. If there is a suicide involved the bully should be charged for second degree murder.

My gut feeling when I compare what my father describes from when he was in school to my day to kids today is that we have increasingly told kids to get adult help. That's sort of good. The flip side though is that witnessed to bullying feel less empowered or perhaps more importantly, less responsible for stopping it.

Most of the time only peers are actually well placed to intervene.

We really don't teach kids to speak up to enforce social norms.

I think school is not responsible for things which occurs outside it's premises.
Although if it occurs too often then you should report it to the higher authorities of the school to take necessary actions.

Or you can report it directly to the cyber cell of the police department.

in my opinion if it's out of the boundaries of the school then school should not be interfere in this.
In my area, the victim could report to the school. The daughter of my aunt was harassed online, then her parents and mine reported that to the school. The school principal rusticated that boy.

Heh. I don't think what happens outside the school has anything to do with the school... This is like when a school fired a teacher for partying one night and getting drunk pics on her Facebook. It's her private life! Fuck off!

Schools should stop cyberbullying outside the classroom if it affects the students, in which case its against the law. At least where I live. So basically if one student is cyberbullying another, that would be illegal.

They could repport moderator and they deny acces to profiles for some long time but it is difficult and how could someone know if they misuse this feature. But then it could lead to bullying in realworld and there you can not switch off button
