Would YOU "free the nipple"?

There has been a movement called "free the nipple" which is about women being able to walk around topless, just like men without getting accused of inappropriate behavior.

I think it's great and I support the women who have the courage to do that but it hit me that I would never be brave enough to walk around topless, even on the beach where others did it. I would be scared of people looking at me and feeling like an object, which is a bit ironic because that is the kind of thoughts the movement is all about erasing.

So my questions are:
Girls- have/do/would you walk around topless? If yes, why and if no, why.
Guys- what do/would you think if you saw a girl topless at the beach or somewhere else where men also are shirtless?

I am personally for it. Breasts are not part of the reproductive system. We have sexualized them, and I don't see too many things wrong with that. But if society learned to accept bare breasted women, a lot of women would go that way instantly. Many that now say they would never do that would change their minds and it would be a normal thing. They would still retain their sexual appeal, but not as much in public as in private. For instance, guys can see girls necks all day with no strange thoughts. They can go home and still feel indifferent with their SO about the neck. But get into a sexual session and they may get turned on as heck to touch her neck, kiss it, nuzzle it. It takes on a sexual meaning under sexual circumstances.

Yeah, a lot of guys are immature and will respond inappropriately. And normal guys will notice and admire them, They do that for pretty faces, too.

I think it heavily depends on the situation. If it was in a McDonald's downtown, I would find it weird or curious to say the least, if it was at the beach, I would think nothing... been to many beaches, never thought anything...

Its all a matter of culture and habit. I have been in Ethiopia and all tribes living in the south walk nipple free. Nobody cares, nobody bothers because it is considered normal. I don't see this happening in the US bible belt, nor in nordic countries becuse of the climate.

I've been to places where there was nudist/naturist recreation going on with both genders present. It's not about sex. The men don't walk around with erections, although if it happens it's not a crime. Once you're in a place where everyone is naked, or at least top-less, the mystery is gone and it's actually less sexual. We all have the same parts. I support the idea behind Free the Nipple, partly because it's challenging the idea that breasts are primarily sexual. When it's hot summer weather I like to work out in the park without a shirt on. I mow the grass without a shirt on. I don't see any logical reason that girls shouldn't be allowed to do the same thing --- IF they want to.

But, I don't think I'd go out without a shirt because I get enough comments about my breasts that I don't want when they're covered up.

Personally I don't even think men should be allowed to go topless unless it's at a beach/swimming area. Then I think women should be allowed to do it in those areas too. I don't think very many men or women can say they enjoy some random dude jogging by without his shirt when they just want to walk the dog in damn peace.

The argument I've hear that supports the movement is that boobs are not sexual organs, just like men's "boobs", and therefore shouldn't be treated as such. However, any girl or guy who has done boobs play before knows that this is a lie. It's amazing how we'll they work in conjunction with her "real" sexual organs.

I won't lie to you. I would probably walk around staring and probably have a hard on too. I'm sorry but there it is. Everything about a woman is meant to be attractive to the male. But I would not view women as an object. I would think "wow she's really beautiful!" It'd be nice to see women of all shapes and sizes being proud of what they have. And it would show they have confidence in themselves.

The difference is that a woman's breasts and nipples can receive sexual stimulation. That's why it's seen as ok/normal for a young child to walk around topless. Because the breasts aren't developing yet

Laws differ in different places. Oregon actually has a law in place preventing businesses from forbidding it. A recent case involving a business (if I remember correctly, it was Goodwill) made the news. A woman breastfeeding as she went through the cashier line overheard one cashier comment about a woman breastfeeding in the line and later someone made comments in the media. She is suing over it (the cashier should have minded her own business), there is a "breast-feed in" organizing for that location, and the store has posted signs since stating they recognize a woman's right to breast feed openly. So not all Americans or all states are against breastfeeding in public.
