Free the Nipple is a topfreedom campaign created in 2012 during pre-production of a 2014 film of the same name.[1][2] The campaign highlights the general convention of allowing men to appear topless in public while considering it sexual or indecent for women to do the same, and asserts that this difference is an unjust treatment of women. The campaign argues that it should be legally and culturally acceptable for women to bare their nipples in public.[3]

Lina Esco may be best known for how involved she is in women's rights and the Free the Nipple campaign. The organization, as Esco states, is to promote sexual equality. Free the Nipple has attracted attention from numerous celebrities including Courtney Love and Miley Cyrus,[18] who also has a song on the soundtrack of the Free the Nipple movie[19] and continues to strongly support the organization.

Having said that ladies, how do you feel about this movement?
How do you personally feel about your breasts, and would you feel confident enough to join if it make "legal"?

I feel like it’s not really necessary to have a whole petition or movement. Yet I also believe both men & women should be treated fairly in regards to legalities. It shouldn’t be frowned upon nor OK to arrest a woman for having her shirt off. And then men walking around bare chested getting away with it. That’s totally sexist. And I don’t even wanna hear about how boobs are apparently sexier than a man’s chest. I’ve thought many dirty things about those muscled joggers. Thoughts are free to have. It’s actions that matter most.

I would be totally fine showing my tits in public. I have nothing to be ashamed of & sometimes it’s hella hot outside.

Most people feel embarrassed or ash ashamed of their boobs. Why do you think they feel that way? And why do you seem more confident than other women?

I wasn’t always this confident. I used to be just as insecure when I was younger. Mostly due to bullying & listening to other people’s poor opinions of me.

Eventually I learned you can’t please everyone & it’s OK to have flaws. Movements like body positivity, feminism, etc. really helped me grow from hating myself.

Because they’re all about going against the status quo. And prioritizing your happiness above what society tells you is best. When I stopped letting other people dictate my life, I became happier. And my mental stress was alleviated as well.

There’s not really a specific way to help someone build their confidence. They have to develop that on their own.

But giving them genuine compliments is always a nice way to show you care. And scolding them whenever they talk shitty about themselves. Don’t let them become their own enemy.

People barely accept the whole braless thing especially in the work place. I think it won't be acceptable for a long time if ever and one thing that might hold it back is the fear of harassment. Humans are just not evolved enough to handle it at least in most societies. For now we will go on with shirts on sweating in the 100 degree heat.

I think that's ridiculous. Showing chest is completely different between men and women because for women, it's a reproductive part of the body, while for men it's not. That means that for women, it's one of the private areas of their body.

Men can induce lactation, but their breasts will not have the fatty mass that womens' do. The breast is MORE of a sexual stimulant to men than men's chests seem to be to women, though for me, I think a well developed male chest is awesome looking and I'm glad I can see them. Plus, I'm SURE men go bare chested because, usually, they have something nice to show. Women who can no longer have children can lactate, so it's not really a reproductive part of the body. Even among tribal peoples where women go around topless, nice looking breasts are nice looking. I don't see any reason to sun damage any more skin, but it's as harmless as booty shorts. I've been to nude beaches. It wasn't offensive. Different. I'd still like people to wear clothes to work, the supermarket, etc. But at the beach or park or while having a run, it's pretty harmless. I don't think more men will rape women because their boobs are out. That's a power crime. Not a sex crime.
