I moved from Texas to California about a year ago. Let me tell you this is the absolute worst state to live in. The cost of living to God damned expensive. The gas prices are too high for no damn reason when California is a oil producing state just like Texas. I have noticed that the people in California are just very stuck up and snobby ass holes, and can be very judgmental. It's hard to make real friends. The traffic is a mess and last but not least, you California's can't cook worth shit and your barbeque is a disgrace, there is nothing like good ole Texas.

Asker+1 yThe gas is expensive in CA because the state requires a different kind of refining process that is cleaner bit more expensive. But yes people from Southern CA are almost always horrible individuals that no one outside of Souterhn CA can stand not even people from the north part of CA.
Asker+1 y@TimTim56... Dude just no... You're not. New York is progressive, the East Coast is progressive. Californians just make bad decisions in life and have the most overcrowded prison system in the U. S. It took the Supreme Court to put an end to your reign of tyranny. The LAPD gives Alabama a run for their money. The Rodney King riots were the worst fucking riots in American history. Some say the Chicago Riot was worst but the Rodney King Riots were worse and far more disturbing.
Southern California has failed to ever deliver anything worth while to society and the people are garbage people, scum of the earth.
They move to Texas because they can't support themselves in SoCal but then fail to even be worth while in Texas despite the state having less than 5% unemployment. They work in the service industry which is a joke because they can't even do that. They wait on tables telling you how much better they are because of where they were born. Joke- +1 y
I don't live in SoCal I live up north. The people I know on the East coast tend to not be LGBT friendly and even a little racist and some sexist (they call women bitch and whore.) But keep in mind that those are only the people I've known. If we're talking economics then yeah we suck. The prison system ties in directly with the economy.

Cuz Texans are like "yeah, STEAK!"
And Californians are like "yeah, SALADS!"
And Texans are like "ew."

Texans who I have heard speak on this subject have said that California epitomised everything that was wrong with the United States.
They described Californians as effete socialist loving libtards, who wanted to take everyone's guns and live in a police state. Sort a state full of clones of Jerry Brown.11 Reply
Asker+1 yI can hear those words coming out of certain people's mouths in Texas but those people have equally harsh feelings on most people.
Texans are polite and don't like to be bad hosts so they don't always speak openly on their feelings towards Californians. But if you hear a Texan talk to another Texan on the matter they let out a sigh of relief and then just say how horrible these people are. But again we are only talking about SoCal people.
Texans don't hate New Yorkers or any other group like they hate SoCal people. In Austin it can sometimes be a conversation killer if you say you are from SoCal. They'll ask oh okay but where are you orignally from and if the answer is the same than you are suspect. Mainly I think because these people talk about how awesome they are because of where they are from and how they can make the current place they live better. Texans don't like that.
They want to make you feel at home but that doesn't mean they want you to remodel their home.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yMost states hate California with the mass amount of people moving from California to new states (because so many people can't afford to live there) and bringing their terrible driving skills and bad attitudes with them.

I, personally, am from California and do not agree with this. I moved to Texas and saw how discriminatory they were to Californians, also Texans are the shittiest drivers do you shouldn't be talking. If you want to talk about bad attitudes, see Texas. Thanks for your input but no thanks.

@theanarchistjaguar I've lived in both also, although not very long in Texas. I've lived in 16 places in 10 different states, and I think California has the most uptight people. For one thing, people are so busy chasing money they don't take enough time to relax.
The ones who aren't working outrageous hours are fighting traffic instead. I never could figure out how it's wise for a million people to all get on the highway at the same time. Then they drive 80 MPH with about two car lengths between. What's the damn hurry?
It's like go go go go all the time. Even when they are off work it's go go go all the time. Go to the mountains and get there as fast as they can, go to the ocean and get there as fast as they can, constantly doing something. Just sitting around relaxing and talking doesn't count as doing something to them. They have to GO somewhere.
By the way, of the places I've lived, I think New York has the most chill people (western NY state not NYC).

Asker+1 yThat's not true for the whole state.
Asker+1 yI should have also specified Southern Californians as no one has a problem with people from Northern California. But not all of Texas can be put in the same box either.
Because most texans are conservatives and California is probably the most liberal state in the country

00 ReplyI'm a Californian and I would LOVE to visit Dallas and Austin TX

Asker+1 yWhy Dallas? It has absolutely nothing to offer anyone unless you like big churches. Visit Austin, you're welcome here as long as you don't want to move here.
Asker+1 yAll of Texas has need for Master Electricians. Austin has the most need right now and pays more.
Texans don't hate SoCal people due to politics. It is due to bad attitudes. 10 years ago people moving from SoCal told everyone Austin was liberal, hip and laid back because of them. That's right, SoCal people thought they invented Austin in less than 7 days.
I used to do Lyft and Uber for fun as a driver every now and a while but I quit doing it because the price wasn't worth it even with a friendly convo.- +1 y
There's a huge difference between Northern California and Southern California. Most people don't realize this fact. But it is so obvious that people in NorCal are so much more laid back and prone to be outdoors (Not surfing, Well sometimes) We love the virtues that the great state of Texas has!
